Engine light on

Here is my problem....my engine light came on when i installed the Injen CAI but it goes off couple mins later..so i though it was fine...i dont really abuse the car just punches u know....so CAI was on for about 5000miles (now is 7400mils) then..enigine light came back on, i took it to my friend's body shop, tryin to use the computer to read the code but there was no result...it reads link error...?? so i decided to put the OEM intake back in...and the engine light still on....i checked every possible dat could cause engine trouble shoot...i am pretty sure everything is hooked up right...just dunno whats wrong with it..??i mean the car is fine running pretty strong......wut if i take it to the dealer..?? i think my warranty is done...since i been modified my car .....i would put everything back in stock since i got lil s*** in my car....HID''S, sound system, gauges..intake and BOV.....just being lazy....anybody got the same issue like mine??? any help will be greatly appreciated..!!!

try to get the code pulled...i would bet money is a lean code from the CAI. my MS CAI did the same thing to me last year when it started getting cold. if thats what it is its nothing to worry about unless it continuisly comes on like every day, then i would suggest moving to a different intake. i will turn off itself after one or two driving cycles.

Yeah the only thing the CAI would mess with would be the MAF sensor. If you replaced the stock box and it still came on then if you cant get a code I would take it to the dealer. You could also try rebooting the ECU by pulling the neg off the battery. Doesn't seem like you have anything too much of a pain to remove. I would definately remove your gauges, intake, and bov. I would leave the sound system / lights in. VERY unlikely you will lose your warranty because of that.

i tried couple times unplugged the ground wire off the battery, but after few days it came back again. i didnt get the code of the OEM INTAKE YET, I been busy all these day, but im try on monday to c if i can get dat fix, if not i probably put everything back in stock and take it to the dealer...

If im not mistaken it smooths the flow of air past the MAF.

You could try that. Weird though because the Injen intake shouldn't have this problem. Maybe you got a defective one or something.

I have the injen with zero codes and over 22k miles. Your CEL is more than likely not due to the intake... You need the dealer to assess it.

find someone local that has a dash hawk to look it up for u, and yes a air straightener is needed, one reason why AEM made it, most that had the mazdaspeed cold air has NOT had any CEL after install of the little 6 Dollar part.

does the AEM air straightener fit into INJEN CAI...??would it fix my problem???

is the injen intake single piece or 2 like all the others? if it's not 2 then you'll have to cut it then install the straightener then couple it.

i founded out y my engine light still on since i had put the stock intake back in..it was my mistake i didnt plug the headlight fuse all the way in. once i push all the way in and the engine goes off. but my problem havent solve yet, so i decide put the injen back in and then the engine light came on again... i really should get the air straightener...hope it could solve my problem.......thankx folks...!!

For a few bucks it's worth a try, but I honestly think that's where your issue lies.

Mke sure the reader your using is CAN compatible, if not yes it will have a link error, or if the Software is out of date.
