Engine Idle RMM

So I am noticing the low idle on my car more now with the CPE-75 RMM and the associated vibrations. It usually hovers around 700 RPM give or take. If I run it around 900 RPM, the engine/ car/ cabin is smooth and nice and quiet.

I am considering raising the idle but dont know if there are any adverse affects other than burning a tiny bit more gas. I also have the COBB AP so I am also wondering if it would affect the tune. What cha think?

Won't affect anything ,I also have the AP and with the SU trany mount and side engine mounts a higher idle is a must.Unless you want all your fillings to come out of your mouth.

I have the same issue with my 65 duro CPE, everyone was saying how great it was etc etc so I ended up getting one and BOY do I REGRET it.! it's been in the car for about a month and still the damn thing vibes like crazy with the A/C on but that's not the part that bothers me, what drives me crazy is the droning that it causes inside when the A/C is on till the mount settles down.....can't wait to put my stock mount with CS inserts back in, it feels basically the same without the vibes and all the noise!

Rmm

I've been waiting on this upgrade. I would really like better hook up and less wheel spin when I drag other cars from stop light to stop light but the trade off appears to be vibration.

Considering the very limited amount of times that I drag other cars is this upgrade really worth it?

Is anyone running the Street Unit RMM? And if so, any significant vibration?

Are the Corksports really worth the money? I mean they look like flimsy urethane molds that offer little or no stiffness. Is the performance they offer real or just similar to a placebo effect?

Is adjusting the idle on the CP-E RMM the best and easiest solution to the vibration? It seems like the engine wants to jump out its' bay while providing little traction at take-off with OEM RMM.

Maybe I just need to figure out how to drag this FWD car better! Like launch in 2nd gear after revving the engine to 5 grand. Whats your technique?

I personally have had the corksport inserts in the car since it became available and loved it! compared to my current set up with the CPE 65, reason being with the HT tune I thought it would be a good idea to "stiffen" up the mount with the added torque, but after doing so I really couldn't tell that much of a difference and that's with the CS inserts being in for over 2 years...but I'm going to be in the market to sell this RMM cuz for the vibes and noise etc associated with it, to me as a DD it's just not worth it....so I will be reinstalling my CS once my work schedule slows down.

The SU unit is virtually vibe and noise free. If you can't handle the miniscule vibe change from it, you should retire your performance car and buy a Camry. I strongly recommend the SU unit.

The inserts are a joke long term. The MM will just tear itself to pieces around them and you'll be back where you started, save out the money you spent on the inserts. The SU mount isn't alot of cash and will hang in for whatever you throw at it, including drag racing. Mark at SU also stands behind his products, too, if you have any issues.

Thanks Darth Vader,

You confirmed my thoughts about the Corksports regarding price and longevity. I've replaced the OEM RMM twice during warranty and both me and the dealer don't want to see each other again for replacement. I'll order the SU product.

Thanks, this was a great thread, it helped me make up my mind.
