Engine Cover?

ok so that plastic engine cover is falling apart.... just wanted to know if i could still use it without that white stuff under it or would the cover melt?

Yep its just for looks. Ive seen alot of people painting them tho. Thinking i might do mine soon as well.

Why not take the covers off and powdercoat/clean up the valve cover...

My second "mod" was an engine cover delete. The first was the rear headrest delete. I like to be able to see behind me, and don't carry that many passengers anyway.

Sorry for the late reply but I'm very familiar with the engine cover and there is NO WAY it would ever melt on top of the engine. That white stuff is a little sound insulation or something, rip it out and put the cover back on if you want or leave it off per other posters.

Oh. Lol. I would think it would get really really hot.
But I guess plastic needs to reach above a couple hundred degrees for that to happen? Lollllllllll. I don't know.

You should be alright man. mine has half of that white stuff missing and it hasnt deformed or misshaped in any way.
