So after shutting down my car, there is a noise maybe 30 seconds to few minutes after coming from engine compartment. What is it?

There is a vacuum test on the fuel system IIRC. It is mentioned in the owners manual.

Most likely it's the valves and whatnot, cooling the turbo. Doesn't usually take a few minutes, though. Describe the sound. Remember, the fan may run for a while after shutdown in hot weather.

Smoke's right. There is no "turbo timer" on this car but, there is a diagnostic cycle of sorts the car goes through. Mike's point about the fan is also well taken, especially if the AC has been on.

It did sound like air being purged or something but it did when I had hood open and didnt expect it to be that loud.

Mine sounds abit more like an electric motor whirring sound, with a couple clicks in. It's always done it, it's mentioned in the manual, as Smoke said and, nothin's busted yet, har

Those sounds are the gizmos helping the turbo cool down.
