Emblem painting

So, I have a 2006 3i, nothin special (cept that its a mazda, but we all knew that), and I want to play a theme off the stock red brake lights. I think I am going to paint the emblems red.
the car is blue, but i have never seen anything with that red- blue combo before (maybe its too ugly (puke), we will soon find out.)
anyone have any advice on:
1. getting the emblems off
2. priming/painting/clear coat
3. getting the emblems on...

well there is already a good how to on DIY painting your emblems. just search for it.

as for the red/blue, i've seen red emblems on black cars and it takes a lot for it to tie in pretty good. it will look a little rice because it will be hard to match the hue of your tails. try shooting them with some deep red metalcast and it'll still carry that "chrome" effect you are wanting, otherwise it will be a solid color and not appear to look translucent.
