This is like a whole paragraph i decided to copy from car and driver since its got good info. *HINT* notice the BOLD wording

The most interesting new model is the Proteg5. The charming little carryall is a five-door version of the Proteg sedan. Mazda will drop the base-level 1.6-liter engine from the notchback, four-door Proteg. The 2.0-liter four will now power all models. Mazda plans to freshen the limited-edition MP3 hot rod with revised fascias, wheels, and more power. Mazda reconfigures packages on its mid-size 626 lineup. There are no changes at all to the near-luxury Millenia. There will likely be yet another special-edition MX-5 Miata sometime in 2002.

taken from Charting Changes for 2002. too bad its extremely broad.

Yea, but.....

The article is dated October. Which means that this is just what Mazda told the magazine. It could just be fluff.

On the otherhand, I wouldn't be suprised. Afterall, the #1 complaint of nearly everyone is the lack of power. The down side is that More Power = More Money.

Just my thoughts.
