I just got and installed my ebay intake. I got the 1 from eautoracing. The main pipe was 2 3/4 but it did flair to 3" at the TB and filter. But they sent a 2 3/4 filter. So I emailed them about this and I was told they would send a 3" filter out. They did, and it would get here next week. But I could not wait. So off to auto zone to get a 3" cone filter. Install was OK, the disassembly of the stock intake sucked!!!! I did not take off the bumper. I did it all on my back under the splash shields.
This is my wifes car, so I don't drive it to much. Only 2 weeks old. You only hear it when you get on it. It's been on for only 1 day, maybe 25miles or so. No CEL's yet! The car is an 08 Mazda3 i Touring 2.0 auto. So the intake was listed for an 07, it fit my 08 just fine.
I am trying not to do much to this car. It is a baby hauler for our new baby. We have a mustang to play with. But I do love moding cars/trucks.
