Eagle rods?

ford probe fs powa
Hey guys im alil new to this site. Im a long time member of PT. A few years ago i did my own homemade turbo setup as a "budget" project. Right now I'm currently getting headwork done for free at the machine shop( http://forums.probetalk.com/showthread.php?t=1701130909 ). Since my Heads off, I was considering in upgrading to forged internals...well at least the rods. Ill prolly be upgrading my turbosetup this spring, but dont plan on making over 300whp so i have been looking for economical solution.

Another PT member and I have been discussing using eagle rods for a b16a on the fs motor.( http://forums.probetalk.com/showthread.php?t=1701104384&highlight=b16a+rods ). This does of course require the pin hole to be shimmed, the big end milled, and then eather boring the bigend bore, or offset grinding the crank...Although i can get my machinework done for free, it seems like alot of work/risk involved.

I then heard rumors that eagle makes rods for the fs motor. I wanted to know if this was true, and if so where I could get these rods. (I did search but got no solid answers such as website, rod specs etc...) Thanks a bunch, Darryl

I myself have Pauter Forged Rods in my car now. There are a nubmer of rods you could get for the FS motor. The rods of choice right now are Oliver Rods.

http://www.pauter.com/mazda_ford.htm (for Pauter Rods)
http://www.**************************.com (for Oliver Rods).

Hope this helps!

yeah thx i knew about them rods for awhile. im also aware of the combo with the cp pistons.
i was just thinkin if i got them b16a rods to work on the fs, then thatd mean i could have a complete forged bottom end for like $800. its just the risk/work involved that makes me alil weary.

The great feeling of putting something together cheaply is lost the minute it scatters all over the road.
The added $400 to do it right should be on your mind instead of playing the what if game.A completely new motor will cost you alot more than the $400 saved if it blows up.Now with that said, yes you can use a Honda rod, but alot of machine work is required and should be done by someone who has done it in the past.
