Thanks for the photos...definately a different Wilwood Caliper and a 2 piece rotor. Price for the kit again Wshade?

I'm not down with the X-drilled, but I'd love to have big brakes.

Why would a caliper have to be rebuilt so often??

i couldnt find the exact link to those pimp ass brakes...do you know what the part number or have a link to the direct ones for out cars? thanks

WShade: Do you know the smallest wheel size they'll fit with? I'm guessing 17" ..

While I am certainly getting bigger wheels (18") and want to upgrade the brakes, i also want to keep the option to swap back to my stock wheels (16") if need be during the winter months..

You have to call them. The web site has changed since I purchased mine. The Protege is not listed anymore. Hopefully they still make a kit for our car (sad2)

17" with this rotor size.

The roguh estimate is 4" clearance so, use 12" rotors with 16" wheels, 13" rotors with 17" etc

just thought i'd give an update...just got my e-racer kit and will install later this week...then maybe in september or october the first road race track day and i'll take copious notes of their ability to handle abuse

curious as to why you wouldnt like cross drilling? prefer slotting? One doesnt necessarily cool better than the other, and for the sake of the life of my pads I prefer no slotting as they scrape the pad clean every rotation including some of the oad obviously.

Dont know, if ferrari and porsche use cross drilling i think it'll be ok for my mazda...guess it comes down to preference.

The thing is though, the rotors are made of different materials for Porsche and Ferrari. Not the same metal used in all of the kits mentioned in here.

There was thread around here somewhere saying that cross-drilled rotors are a waste of time on a street car, and slotted aren't that great either. A larger or thicker rotor is better all around.

what are you going to do about the rear rotors? won't it cause a big imbalance in your car's braking? like the rears would tend to lock up all the time as the fronts bite hard. that's my understanding at least. still waiting for a complete bbk.

this kit offers a great level of balance. I have been running them for 2 months now. There is no "locking" up of the rear brakes.

The misconception is that they will bring your car to a stop "dramatically" faster than stock....not really...these brakes come into performance after repeated braking (auto cross, road course, etc). They are less affected by heat associated with repeatitive braking.

Easy to install and a great price.
