dynoed my ms3

well this was done on a mustang dyno. and my mods are ms cai, open downpipe, and cpe standback with sreet tune at 18psi. the catch is that im haveing some small issues with my standback. it doesnt get out of the lower tps maps it basically stays in the .30 but it does go through to redline. and a couple other things to but i already talked to jordan at cpe and sent him a datalog. he is going to look it over and help me figure out what is wrong with it. jordan if u are reading this give me a call if u did or didnt get the datalog my # is 561-713-5270.

anyways back to the dyno first few runs got low to highs 170s and tq was 180s. i dont remember those exact number. but after some fuel and boost tuneing i ended up with 290whp 311wtq with boost falling by 6000 or so i think dew to the throtle closeing. my air fuels were in the mid 11s. not bad huh for only two real mods. i will try to put up a pic of my dyno sheet soon.

Are you kidding? On a Mustang? Those are by far the best numbers I've seen. Also, I'm guessing you mean your first runs were in the high 270's/280's. Which would also be pretty good numbers on a Mustang.

290/311 is about right but Im guessing its more like 300/315,Mustang dynos always read very low it seems. You need to get the fuel pump upgrade for your next mod.

Numbers seem right on par for your mods. do you plan on continuing to use this dyno after you mod more? Would be cool to track your progress.

well its known that most fwd cars put down 10 to 15% less on a mustang dyno. so if u do the math 290whp + 10% = 319whp and 311wtq = 342wtq
and at 13% its 327whp and 351wtq and 15% is 333whp and 357wtq. i like going with 10% couse it seems more acurate with what the mods i have. and i will keep useing the same mustang dyno once i do more mods to my car. next i will be getting the fuel pump and ic with a bof.

One important thing to remember when dyno'ing, is to get a good spool when you initiate the run. Meaning make sure the turbo is spinning a decent amount of velocity before intiating. I think this is part of some of our problems with getting consistant runs between pulls. (Heat-soak aside)

Build up a little boost in a lower gear say 2nd or 3rd for a couple seconds, then do your run in 4th. This way, the turbo has some velocity and will arc through the meat of the compressor map. If you start out with the turbo spooled with a lower amount of velocity, you essentially pull yourself through a more inefficent part of the compressor map during the pull. Thus worse numbers!

Just something to keep in mind.

Nice numbers Jorge...keep in mind that you can tweak a stang dyno to read similar to a mustang dyno by other variables, such as vehicle weight. The most important thing is to use the same dyno so you can measure improvement from mod to mod against a consistent baseline. Being that you apprently live at Japtrix, I don't think this will be a problem, eh? :)

I'm going to keep dyoning on Cartech's rollers, just because its much closer. Japtrix Dyno is REALLY nice though! One day I'll head up to WPB just to do a comparison between the two.

When are you taking that pig to the track?

go to the track to see what you trap

well when i whent to the track with just cai,bc,and a bad bcd i ran a 13.6@104mph hitting fuel cut with a 2.1 60ft. now with the cpe sb and open downpipe the car is much faster and pull nice to about 6500rpms.and when jordan at cpe helps me figure out whats wrong with my standback it should run even better.
