the only stock evo with 400hp is the Evo X FQ400.. so i doubt your boys evo is stock.. unless he bought a $80,000 Evo.. which im sure he didnt.. and like everyone on this site says.. if you goal was BIG power.. you picked the wrong platform to start out with.. you shoulda went with a EVO or STI.. this car is more about a slick looking car thats luxurious and has some balls when you need it.

its says stock turbo not stock car guy. and yea i bought the wrong platform thats exactly why i kickmyslef. and speeds arent in anyway luxurious. your telling me everything ive already stated.
 
i guess thats a matter of opinion. ive never even been in a speed 3 so i wouldnt know about those.. but i consider my Speed6 some sort of luxurious.. not the finest luxuries but i would say its up there.. and i am fully loaded except for a moonroof.

well yea maybee if your fully loaded with leather and what not. but you cant compare the ride in a ms6 to a beemer or a benz. 10xs smoother and quieter
 
Yea, well your comparing beemers and benz's to a mazda.. not knocking mazda dont get me wrong.. i absolutely love my car.. im 20 years old and this car is more then enough for me.. but then again ive heard of ppl comparing BMW 5 series' sedans to MS6's and taking the MS6 because of its rarity and unique features like the navigation remote that detaches from the center console.. this is the only car in which ive seen this feature but i havent done any research on it.

Not really . . . I think the speed 6 finds a very nice middle ground. If your friend has an evo than you should know. Ive been in many evo's / sti's. Riding in those things are like wooden roller coasters. Interiors are horrifying (aside from evo X). Sure the speed 6 might not be as comfortable as a beamer or benz but its cheaper, faster, with AWD. You can't get everything and I think your comments are quite unreasonable. Everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion but after reading many of your comments you make it clear that you don't like the speed because its not fast enough. Thats fine but don't make silly comparisons just to bring the car down. Compare the speed 6 to a honda accord V6 or camry V6 or even a legacy GT. Thats an adequate comparison. The speed is faster, more comfortable, better looking, AWD, handles better, etc. The list goes on. The speed 3 has won many best in class awards. Its the best bang for your buck. 350whp and slicks and you should be in the mid 12 range which is quite fast. That is if you can drive.

And getting 400whp in an evo isn't cheap or "easy". You can do it with or without the stock turbo. Simply different routes. All in all your looking at around 4-5 grand minimum if you install the stuff yourself. Evo's aren't as easy to work on as speeds. Not to mention new they are quite a bit more expensive.

And if you wan't a fast car don't buy a spanking new evo. Buy a 240sx or something and drop a 1JZ engine in there. Inexpensive / "easy" swap and you can hit 400 whp easy and for much cheaper than an evo or sti.

Everything is relative man.

yea ur prob rite, but a ms6 is not faster than a beemer. a 335 would spank it all day. and u dont neede 5000 to make an evo produce 400w. my freinds 9 made 430 with an exhaust intake fm and meth on stock turbo. thats it. and yea the evo and sti ride like s***, but once they hit full boost, ur so to glued to the seat that you wont even feel the bumps. lol... but your rite to each his own.

not bashing. everyone on here was saying that the kid int he vid. didnt make alot of power, and he should of made more. im just sayin that he didnt make power bc these 2.3's dont make power, especially considering they got a ko4 bolted to em.

ok so there was a speed3 with the same mods that made 260hp-265trq on a dynojet ok so now put mine on a dynojet and you looking at 235-240hp/285-290trq
i mean you have to take in consideration that you loose hp/trq numbers with the awd to the wheels that is but for me to put down more trq then a speed3 isnt bad ya the hp is still 20 less but i have 20 more trq and awd lol...i just dont see why you have a speed3...why dont you trade it in for a neon srt-4...you can make more power and cheaper then any other fwd turbo car...so then you can keep up with ur buddies evo... plus i mean i bought my ms6 for 17000 with only 25k on it try finding a sti/evo for that price not going to happen but...srt-4s are like 10000 now so perfect time to trade in the ms3..i mean s*** my gfs old cobalt ss/sc ran better times then ms3s at the track...lol you might want to buy one of those too the tc ones are better though :) and have you dyno'd the ms3 yet?

I bought the 3 b/c i wanted new, and at the time mitsubishi and subaru werent givin me either for less than 40000. thats way to much for a evo or sti. so i went to the mazda, that is when i new nothing about em. if i knew all that i do now i wouldnt have ever bought it. dont get me wrong their good cars and fun to drive. just dont make the power and dont have the reliability i was looking for. srts and cobalts do get very quick but whats the point of making power if you can put it to the floor. that was another problem i had with my 3, when i got that tune all i did was spin with the stock tires on. it was scary to drive it in the rain. but 6's arent much better, my freind has one and he didnt do much better than i did in the snow. he couldnt even make it up his driveway.

Onelsono: Just a suggestion for the next time you go car shopping. I would buy the car that (to you) looks the best and drives the best. Now when I say 'drives the best', I mean drives the way that you can be comfortable with, not just measuring how much power it has. I'm suggesting that you fulfill those criteria first because every car has it's problems. For instance, I happen to really like the looks of newer model Audi's, but all I ever hear about them is "they nickel and dime the s*** out of you". Some cars are worse than others, but at the end of the day, all that matters is if you can drive it with a smile on your face.

I'm sure you already know everything I just explained, I just wanted to remind you.

it was prob b/c he had the stock summer radials on it. He would drive down the road cruising at 30 in 4th, and if he hit small patch of ice the hole car would just randomly go sideways.

What's with the comparison between the MS6 and BMW. I'm sorry, but if your comparing a Mazda to a BMW, You're just straight retarded. No one ever mentioned the Mazdaspeed was king of all car's. The Mazdaspeed 6 fully loaded is more luxurious than any car in it's CLASS meaning competitors not Mercedes, Lexus's, or Porches's.

I have never seen one EVO 9 with Intake, Exhaust, FMIC and Meth make 430awhp. With those mod's the best your going to see, is around 380-385 on the stock turbo. With cams/tune maybe close to 430awhp, That's just pushing it.

ya s*** my friends evo is putting down 505awhp but its also fully built with a gt35r in it lol if you dont mind me asking what do you have done to the 3?
 
a fully built 07 sti up here is only making 530awhp. a fully built speed 6 would be putting down probably the same numbers lol. impressive that your opinion can be swayed by some weird comparisons that dont even match. at all.
the only difference is its hard to find an sti with heated seats and nav with as much class and luxury as a speed6.

I have yet to see a speed6 make close to 400w. and have only seen a couple 3's make 400. and thats fully built with a 30.

I had a turbo-back, intake, fuelpump, inlet, fuelpump, ap, and a prof tune. all that is sold though. cars bone stock now. after my boy with the speed6 i was telling you about shot a rod out of the block and had to pay 6000 for a used motor from mazda, and i began reading more about stuff like that and found out how randomly alot of these cars are poping i said F that, and riped everything out. now im just low with a cbe. and waiting till i finish colege to pick up sumthing different.
