Anyone done this?

Plays DVD Audio disks, not CD's. Similar to SACD's. Two of Pioneer's new decks are to be DVD Audio compatible. This is not DVD-Video. Works with a 5.1 speaker setup in the car, center channel in the ceiling above the rear view mirror. Pioneer makes a center channel speaker that sticks on the dash but it looks so cheesy....

Is it 6ch DVD-audio or 2ch?

THere's not enough good DVD-Audio discs out there now anyway, so I don't see much purpose in it.

5.1, not six channel. The number of DVD audio titles has quadrupled in the last year alone. I kinda like being the only guy on my block with one. I'm going for it.

you don't need a speaker in the center to have a center channel.

u would for a 5.1 souround system or 6.1

dvd audio has quadrupled in the last year but thats means there are 8 dvd's now lol.

I worked in a record store from 1984 to 1987, and I remember the very first CD's that came into the store. A lot of people laughed at those, too.

lololololol.

Thanks for the link, I saw that earlier... so it looks like no one on this forum has actually done it....

Do DVD-audio players read MP3 format?

If so that would be the ultimate answer!!!!!!!!!

dvd = 4.7Gb!!!
CD = 700Mb :(

MP3 song = 1Mb/min
avg song lenght = 2.5 to 3 minutes

4700Mb/3Mb = 1,567 3 minute Songs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

avg # of songs per Album = 15

1567 / 15 = 104 Albums per DVD!

I love math!
