Has anyone had any luck finding any dustless brake pads? I'm getting fed up having to clean my rims off every other day!!

I'm starting to sound like a salesman for the damn company but Carbotech bobcats and other street materials don't dust much at all, especially if you aren't racing with them.

Thanks for the 411, but is there anything cheaper, those bobcats are like 200 for front and rear?

For the mazdaspeed? Not really. You can do Greenstuff in the rear for about $70 and you can do Akebono ceramics in the front for $75 or so... and then shipping. Greenstuffs aren't so great. And I personally have issues with the akebono ceramic stuff since I haven't heard anything good about them other than they last a long time.

Realize that if you went to Mazda and wanted new brake pads its $150 for the fronts and $120 for the rears. So $110 an axel for Carbotechs Bobcats really don't seem that bad to me. Yeah $70 to $90 would be better... but we're talking about the difference between a mass production facility (like Hawk or EBC) and a place that handmakes pads per vehicle specification.

I was thinking like mintex or rotex pads? I havent done any extensive research on either product yet, but ive heard good things about them. Or ebc?

Also, i was reading your post about the pads and im convinced in dishing out the money to purchase them. However im not familiar with the term 'bedding'. Im guessing its sort of "breaking them in"? What exactly should i do once i put these pads on?

I use the raybestos performance plus pads...they are great pads and have very little if any dusting. (I've noticed no dusting).

$60 or so a set.

p.s. I thought they banned you Matty? (huh)

Looks like he has an MP3... bunch of pads for that size.

Bedding is the process where your rotors and your pads mingle and swap material for optimum friction. Its a process where you go somewhere safe and do a few firm slow downs until your brakes are nice and hot. 4 to 8 slows going 60 to 20 mph will do the trick usually. I bedding mine on a cooler day so I did some pretty serious bedding, mostly because I was too lazy to have my rotors turned before I used the new material. You need to bed pads anytime a compound change occurs (like going semimetalic to carbon ceramic) or you put on new rotors. My disclaimer though is always follow the instructions sent with the product you purchase. If the product dosn't mention bedding... then I don't trust it.

(dunno)

banning me wouldnt be good! I have alot to offer! As soon as i get some free time I'm gonna be working with TPC (turbo performance center) to have some custom work done to my MSP. Maybe down the road i can even work out some group buys with them as a good friend of mine works at the shop!

check out their website, they do alot of custom kits for porsche and have a badass racecar team
