i am at this tech fair all week and one of the stands has a PHAT ass Ducati.. it reads 228 on the speedometer and redlines at 12000 RPMs.
i would give anything for this bike.. it has 6 miles on it AHHHHH.

Very sweet bikes, and very expensive. Downside is that they are very uncomfortable for a long days ride and they are a little underpowered if not modded. Lots of guys I ride with have them. They love the bike, but wish they were more comfortable.
They are very good handling though, if you know EXACTLY what you are doing. You have to be a pretty good rider to use the bike like it needs to be ridden.
Don't get me wrong, I'd do almost anything to have one sitting in my garage, but it would still be NEXT TO my Honda 900RR. That honda is the smoothest and most comfortable thing out.

Man if I ever thought of a machine as a really sexy...it would be a Ducati...I've seen 2 at my college...they look so sweet standing still and even sweeter on the move...I don't think I should ever get one though...it would be the end of me (at 210 mph) lol

Just for reference, they WON'T hit 210 mph. It may say it on the speedo, but it won't get there.
Cycle world (I think) did a top speed check on the bikes. I think the top 3 were the Suzuki GSXR700, Hayabusa, and Yamaha R1. (I think that's right.) The top was around 183mph with no mods.
Now, there is a big race out in the desert where they only run cars for like 30+ miles on closed roads. They allowed a modified Hayabusa to run a couple years ago. Over the entire course, it AVERAGED 180mph+. That's some CRAZY speed. Again, it was heavily modified.
Bikes won't go 210 factory. There is too much drag and not enough power. (And yes, at those speeds, bikes have very high drag.) I've been riding for 13 years now. Not just talking out my a$$.
BTW, the fastest I've seen on mine was 175mph on a nice long stretch of highway. Had a little more, but the wind was really starting to buffet the bike.

Lol...I think the point is tho that if you wreck at 210 or at 175.....you can pretty much say goodbye to this world. Don't get me wrong I'd do the exact same thing if I had the bike...see what I could get it up to for top end....but if you make one mistake at that kinda speed....ouch.

NO 210mph!..Well forget it then...I won't ride any motocycle that can't do 210...lol...yes I do realize they don't reach 210...I thought the Hayabusa (modified?) could break the 200 mph barrier...thought I saw this on TV...I believe they were testing on a runway...Hmmm...isn't their a new version of the Hayabusa?

What kind of power would it take to break 200 mph?
