drove a wrx

i drove my friends wrx today...HATED IT, sure its powerful, but the steering feel sucks compared to my p5, i had no idea what the tires were doing...i compare it to my moms buick lesabre. the evo i test drove was much tighter like the p5 and my other friends rsx has the tightest most communicative steering ive ever felt

The stock suspension, namely stock tires, leaves a lot to be desired on the WRX. Better tires is probably mod #1 WRX owners should perform.

I have yet to drive my gf's mp5 so I can't compare my current setup with a stock mp5.

this had good tires, im just sayin the way the steering felt was crap, the wheel was so loose and i didnt like it much

Ahh, I just re-read your original post. Yeah, I agree. The feel of the wheel is too mushy. That is one thing I don't like about my car. I wish it was a bit stiffer, especially on the freeway. I guess I am used to it now.

im suprised that the suspension was so soft on a wrx. reminded me of my moms 98 corolla

evo 13.1 to 1 ratio = nice

You want to drive something very responsive and direct without getting into $$$ sport cars...

Drive an mp3. The Acura got nothing on the mp3


Note: I did not say Mazdaspeed.

The mp3's steering is such a good balance of responsive and great road feel it's wild. I wish they never changed it in the Mazdaspeed. Then again, the Mazdaspeed doesn't follow the bumps and ruts so bad either so it's a compromise I guess.

nope....far from it. European steering column in the mp3 with a closer ratio. Much more responsive ( although most speed people won't admit to it) The Speed has the normal protege steering column for the most part, and the result is a loss of road feel, and response. Take it from someone that owned both. For everyday use, I like the speed better as it is easier to drive since it doesn't follow the bumps so much. But for track/autox....the mp3 has a much much better feel to it, and requires less of a turn with the steering wheel to ...well...turn.

Don't be hatin' on the WRX.The thing is beast,I test drove a 04 at the dealership and I loved it.I can't wait to get mine
