Drove a W12 Phaeton today

I got to drive a W12 VW Phaeton today and all I can say is WOW what an amazeing car! Very smooth and VERY powerfull, I just touched the gas on the entrance ramp and had to hit the brakes right away cause I almost rearended an old caravan
Anyways the car hits 100mph before you can even think about it on the highway and the brakes shed speed very fast. The features to the car are amazing as is the interior (heated and airconditioned 16way power seats w/ massage for all four passengers )
Some kid in a focus was trying to race cutting around traffic, just let him go cause it's not even worth the consideration of a car in this class :wtf:
The car handles really well for being so large and heavy. Most likely the most powerfull and expensive (nearly $90,000) car I'm ever going to drive

my dad got a letter from VW he got to test drive one too, he said it was incredible.. but his new Ford GT (when he gets it) is gonna be even more incredible!

see it in person and it is everything you expect in an $80,000+ vehicle and more. VW is actually heavily subsidising the W12 here as they really cost ~$105,000. They are only selling 400 W12's this year only as of right now. They are losing money on them according to our rep. the V8 for around $65,000 is going to be the regular model of the car.
well, whatever, everyone is entitled to their opinion but this is a really nice car.

I think the car is worth the money, but I think the problem is VW dealers ARE NOT worth the money. People are going to expect a LOT if they are dropping $65-$80k on a car, and I'm not sure VW dealers are prepared for that. Hopefully VW is training their dealers/salespeople/parts/service how to deal with people a little better.

Anyhow, that is exactly the issue, that the car is ready but service isnt. Most Dealers (and VWoA) are not even prepared to deal with a 20k Golf let alone an 80k luxury car. God I hope the Coilpacks don't Die on the Phaeton...

lol; that's too funny Lola 2.0. you are 100% correct...they were taking coilpacks out of the new cars on the lot so that they could get all the cars in for service back out on the street. There was a waiting list for 2-3 weeks to get the parts in, let alone do the labor on the cars that were piling up...(lol)

and the window regulators too...those are doosey's when its raining

this is something i think VW is well aware of. the Phaeton warrenty as far as i understand it is that if there is any problem with the car it will be picked up at your home or work and dropped back off when finished, in the meantime the loaner car will be either a Phaeton, Toureg, or Passat W8. From my conversations with VW reps and trainers they are very serious about customer satasfaction with this car. if VW does all they say and dealers go along with everything it will be a much different company in a few years, ie. Lexus or better.

I thought VW handled the coil problem well BTW. They tried to keep everyone on the road with a limited number of replacement parts. It took awhile to get all the replacements manufactured, and you can't stop production either.

Again from what i've see VWoA is doing a good job in preparing for this car and improving their service throughout the line. As far as dealers go there will always be bad ones and good ones. Look at other luxury brands for an example, or even mazda, remember these are franchises so they will all be different.
