Drizz-OH! build/progress thread

Hey everyone. I finally got to posting up on here.

Wheels | Tires | Brakes
5Zigen FN01R-C 18x7.5 Wheels et 43mm
Kumho Ecsta AST 225/40 Tires
Gorilla Locking Lug Nuts
Rotora Slotted Rotors
StopTech Posi-Quiet Ceramic Brake Pads
G2 Black Painted Calipers

i noticed you got the same tire/wheel setup that i want for my 6. question. they rub at all with no drop?

No they won't rub. I'm now on MS Hatch springs w/ no rub. The guy I got them from was on the Eibach Pro Kit and they didn't rub. You'll be fine.

**** THE V6 INTAKE MANIFOLD FOREVER!!! Tonights install was the most PITA I have ever done.

The install was totally worth it tho. The WeaponX coils paired with NGK Iridiums (gapped @ .057) is an amazing combo. So far the car is reacting very well to the upgrade (supposedly +8-12 whp thru the entire power band). My car has never pushed me back into the seat before and it sure felt like it did tonight on my test drive as soon as the VVT kicked in. I was like: "Holy s***! V-TAKKKK Just Kicked in yo!!!!!"

With the under body bracing, throttle body spacer, switch over to synthetic engine & gear oil, plus the new plugs & coils, it's like I'm driving a whole new car...and I LOVE it! I've been busy the last 2 weeks.

Here are some new pics from the show this weekend:

Yes...I know I need a new coolant tank. It will be taken care of soon enough.

Thanks guys! It turned out much nicer than I was expecting.

So... re-rolled my rear fenders, replaced my coolant tank with a new one (I can actually see the levels now!) and replaced some other random trim pieces that have been beaten by mother nature over the last few years. Gotta keep it clean.

Think I'm gonna remove my Mazda6 trunk badge and hopefully get some custom exhaust work done tomorrow. We'll see!

Sup guys. I'm finally getting exhaust on my 6. Going the custom route coz I'm not completely satisfied with any of the kits out there.

It's just going to be a catback system, with 2.5" SS piping after the cats and SS tips similar to the ones found on the Tanabe Concept G Axleback system. I was talking to the shop and they mentioned removal of the resonator. I'd love a loud exhaust but I don't want there to be any rasp. Would removal of the resonator make it raspy? Also, I was thinking I would do a true dual exhaust after the cats instead of the Y-pipe. Will I run into any issues if I do that. Please let me know ASAP as I'm getting it installed Thursday.

The tips are a similar design to these, if not these exact ones:

No resonators is going to make the car drone at highway speeds. Would not recommend it especially if its your daily driver...

I guess could you care to elaborate?

They're not loud enough for me, and the custom install is cheaper. ;) Plus, if you haven't noticed, I'm not into the same s*** everyone has. I like to be unique.

As of now, the resonator is coming out. If I decide I don't like it I'll have a Vibrant res welded in. It won't be that expensive.

Understandable. I actually like the fact that you're doing a lot of things with a car(and color) that aren't really big in the scene. You get my props for that.

I just asked about the exhaust install in general because I've seen a lot of 'custom' exhaust jobs that turn into a really ricey job and turn the car into s***. I'd hate to see you do that to yours. The Mz6 just doesn't seem to look right with big exhaust hanging out of the rear bumper.

Ricer. (evil)
Thanks Dub.

Oh Steve don't worry. I'll still be running 4 cats so that should take care of any rasp problems. I just want a nice, deep, hella loud exhaust note. But like I said, if I don't like it then I'll add in a res and call it a day.

Personally, I think it looks awesome with canisters. Nirosh's car was my inspiration for the custom build (he's running the Tanabe Concept G). Here's a pic of his car, my tips will closely mirror his:
