Drizz-OH! build/progress thread

Had to order a set of tuner lugs for the new wheels since my current ones are too beefy. Also did a mockup to see how they will look. I can't wait to bolt them on, the mockup looks so good!

After these tires wear out (should last until summer), my current tires are going on these wheels for DD, and my 5zigens will be my track wheels since they are lighter and already beat up anyway.

^^ HAHAHAHA! Glad you like them. They are the exact same specs as my 5z's so the fitment will be on point, but they look so much bigger since they're all black. The chrome lip makes my current wheels look like 17's. :(

So Star Specs are pretty badass, not as epic as I was hoping, but they are a definite improvement over the Generals for handling.

How do the wheels look?

Awesome photography! I like the style of the wheels, but with your unique color, I'd like to see what some gunmetal (Dark silver or grey) wheels look like. That being said, I still think it is an improvement over your old wheels, and you can never go wrong with black! Good stuff!

Thanks man. I've actually seen gunmetal on this car and was not a fan. I was thinking about doing these in a dark bronze, but I'm not sure, lol.

Looks sweet! Rims do look much bigger without the chrome lip your old ones had. Also like how the black wheels work with the black side marker and black housing headlight. Was your stock headlight like that? Looks like the mazdaspeed 6 headlight.

Thanks!! And thanks for noticing the lights as well! They actually came chrome, but I painted them to mimic the MS6 setup once since my car had too much black to pull off the chrome look.

So after further review and having the tires modified a bit and rebalanced (and adding hubcentric rings), the Star Specs completely pwn. Auto-X is on Sunday! So excited to see how they do on the track. I've noticed with the Star Specs I can take corners ~10mph faster on average (and carry the speed thru the corner), and braking distance is shortened. Hope these help shave off a few seconds on my runs.

Planning to upgrade all my engine mounts to 88-duro with my next paycheck. :D

Mounts ftw.

They should help response time from quick on off throttle flucutations. Good luck on sunday

Was bored so I processed a pic from my last shoot.

After comparing pictures of the Drags vs the 5Zigens, I think I'm gonna keep the 5Zigens for DD use. The car as a whole looks better with them on.

since i have this now. what exactly does lightroom 3 do? is it like photoshop? im going to start meesing with it.

edit: the car looks good as always. would like to see the original to see what it actually did, lol

Thanks Justin! Will PM you the original shot (eww). Lightoom is just like photoshop camera raw image editor, but has a bunch of settings pre-programmed to help speed up the efficiency of photographers. I don't use it too much for editing yet, but I like that you can add copyright details to the metadata.
