Driving CX-5 on highway, high screech and car pulled left

:
CX5
I own a 2018 cx 5.

I was just driving about 65 on the highway and suddenly I heard a very high screech and my car slightly pulled to the left. I pulled my car back to the right side to straighten it and everything was suddenly back to normal.

I got home and looked at my tires and underneath the car and everything looks fine. Any ideas on what happened or I should do?

Some months ago, on my 2016 I had a stick get temporarily lodged in the braking area. Was making a horrible screech, and was dragging sufficient to pull the car slightly to one side. Removed, it was fine. No apparent damage to the brake or stone shield or anything else, so far as I could tell. Braking was smooth and shudder-free, afterwards, so in my case it was minor and had no "system" impact.

If in your case you had a hard yank to one side, then perhaps it would be worth having a mechanic give it the once-over, to verify no obvious damage to the braking or suspension.

That sounds concerning! A sudden screech and pull to the left could be caused by several things, such as a temporary brake issue, something getting caught in the wheel, or even a tire briefly losing traction. Since everything looks fine visually, I’d recommend getting your brakes, suspension, and alignment checked by a mechanic just to be safe. Have you noticed any noises, vibrations, or pulling since then?
Thanks for the input. I brought it into Mazda dealership and they said they wanted me to pay 180 for a full diagnostic and I needed to wait 3 hrs. I told them I would think about it since I've driven it for about 100 miles since the incident and there has been no issues. I also will need an oil change in 1000 miles so I think they do an inspection then.

It's been totally normal since then. I think if it happens again I'll get it looked it?

Years back (like 25 years), I was riding with a buddy and the left front wheel on his Explorer (first gen) locked up. Pulled us into oncoming lanes of traffic, but luckily no cars were coming. His wheel totally locked up.

Of course cops and my buddy's dad didn't believe us until they saw the tire marks leading directly to the truck.

His dad drove it home without issue, but they brought it in and it was diagnosed as a bad wheel bearing or CV axle, can't remember which one.

What's crazy is that in the recent past I was driving next to a similar Explorer and pretty much exact same thing happened. We were going about 30mph on the freeway in traffic and I heard sudden tire screeching and saw them slow down and pull over.

EDIT: I second the comment about a rock or something wedging briefly in the brakes. I had that happen driving on a dirt road. Looked in and saw a rock wedged against the pad/caliper/rotor.

Took it to the mechanic. They took off the wheels, looked at brakes and suspension. Everything looked okay told me I was fine...

Should I have told them to look at the wheel bearing or Axle?
