Driver side window issue

I have an 07 MS3. The driver side window rolls down fine but I have to hit the switch non-stop for 5 mins for it to roll back up. It was bad during the Summer months and I thought it was the heat. But it is having issues even now. Read in a few places that the switch might need to be cleaned or checked. Since it rolls down, the motor, I assume is OK.

How easy is it to check the switch? Do I need to pull the door panel out? Is there a DIY on this?
