Something else I just noticed which provides some clarification and, regrettably, some confusion.
Distance Recognition Support System (DRSS), which will operate independently of radar cruise, varies following distances based on vehicle speed for each setting. See pages 4-141 and 4-142 of the 2020 manual. It shows variable following distance examples for 25 mph vs. 50 mph for each setting. If there was any doubt at this point that radar cruise does the same thing this should all but clinch the matter. Good for one should be good for the other.
Further, it appears radar cruise piggybacks on DRSS. Compare the distances shown on those section 4 pages for the first 4 DRSS settings at 50 mph to the radar cruise chart. They are the same..
Now for the confusion.
That section 4 chart indicates there are 4 DRSS settings from near to far. The vehicle itself only has 3 settings. If there is a Batman out there, riddle me how the manual can show an additional DRSS setting. Even page 9-11 of the manual which shows the DRSS personalization settings shows just the three.
