Yes that's right everyone, back by popular demand. Drift Fest is returning to Evergreen Speedway, in Monroe, Washington. September 24th, 2005 we have decided to make things Bigger and Better. We will have more cars entered in the Car Show, professional drivers coming to demonstrate drifting at the level most of our local guys are trying to reach. We will have DJ OG ONE coming in to DJ for most of the night along with two musical groups to be announced later. Rain or Shine Umbrella girl contest. If all that wasn't enough we will have tons of stuff to raffle and give away, from shirts and hats to car care and car parts. Everyone come out and have a good time and leave knowing you got the best drift experience the NW has to offer.

Will the trophies have the info on them of were they are from? And what place it is? I hate having to tell people, one what show/event it was from, and two, what the trophie was for, 1st?, 2nd?, 3rd?, and so on. Your guys classing was crap you could tell you guys just winged the whole car show end of it together at the last minute. Sorry no car show guy wants a blank trophie for all the time and effort that went into the car. We sat outside in the rain for two hours because we were told to be there at a certin time for roll in. We paid 20 bucks to show our cars, IN THE RAIN. The least you could do is lable the trophies. Evan a yellow sticky would have been better than blank.
Is there actualy going to be a drift compition? it looked like a bunch of Newbs crashing and spinnig out for 10 hours. there was 3 good drifters and 30 bad ones.
Sorry for the complaints but you nead to hear complaints and FIX THEM if you actualy want the show to be better like you said.

I'd have to agree with showtege. I was there too but only went for about an hour then left. Also same with the drift competition also.... too many newbs :-S....

I agree as well. Granted, a trophy is nice. I just don't feel like I should spend an extra $5 on a trophy plaque that shows what I won. I did it anyways, just so I could avoid looking like a loser with a trophy that is totally unlabeled.

Thank you for the feed back it is appreciated. I will break down the replies:

1st- Its hard to have plaques on trophies when you dont know how many different classes there will be. IE have 40 plaques made for first second third Mazda and maybe have 1 Mazda. The idea we have come up with for the next show would be to have a bunch of plaques made up that 1, 2, 3 Mazda or truck or what ever, then have them sepearte from the trophies in a box. When we get ready to do awards just put the plaques on the trophies we are awarding. IE if theres only 3 mazdas the we will have Best Mazda NO second and 3rd, just leave them in box for next show.

Tell me what you think? maybe different ideas. I always want feedback. Thats why I am wondering every show being a part of the community as much as possible. I try to make my self accessable. I am registered on as many sites that I know of so anyone should be able to reach me on forum boards or through the driftfest website, my email is usually accessable on most forum boards too. I dont even mind hate mail. I try my best to make everyone happy. Make people feel like they have input into my shows like it was there own.

Yes there will be competition, yes there will be Pro's, Yes there will be girls. the last show I thought I advertised very well explaining it was local drifters. As some may not know the NW doesnt have very many PRO drivers. My events are to make it possible for local drivers to get the valuable experiance needed so they can become PRO if thats the direction they are headed.

As for winging the car show I have been involved with many, but when you have 8 cars Pre register you dont know what to expect for day of show. Actually Pre registering is very important to us. We dont offer a discount to those that pre register just because we want to. It help us get an idea of how many cars will be coming, how many trophies to purchase, what plaques to make, how much staff is needed for roll in. Also saves us time instead of having drivers sit there and hand fill out the forms while others wait. It would make things cheaper on you and help us if people would PLEASE pre register. Everything would opperate smoother plus it gaurantees your spot. Imagine how up set you would have been if you would have driven all the way out there waited in line then we tell you the person before you was the last one allowed be case we are full. Usually not the case but at the last Car Toys show. I had to stick 3 cars in weird spots because we were full, but I did everything I could and got them in.

Its an insult to have to buy your own plaque it could have at least been sent to us in the mail.

Sent afterwards was an option we looked at also. I was told thats how some shows do it. One of our judges said he was at a cali show were people were mad about getting plaques mailed because they thought it was a scamm for the company to get their information.

As for newbs, like I said we will always have noobs drifting. That is our Event. We are not D1 we are not Formula D.

For this event we are trying something new. Friday we are having a drifting event for the beginners, No spectators, no show cars, No Music, just drifting ALL DAY. Then on Saturday morning we will be having the more advanced/intermediate local drivers drifting and Pros later in the after noon then Competition later at night. We have tons of stuff to give away and raffle off. I also dont like making you guys sit there all day by your cars while there is tons of action going on around. So I will be having the Car show end about 6pm with awards then the show cars are welcome to leave, watch drifting, enjoy them selfs, or find me and tell me what they like dont like what ever.

So basically Roll In will start at 8am and end at 11am. Judging would start about NOON. awards about 6pm. So if you have really clean car and little set up the most you will have to be there is 7 hours.

Again please tell me what you think?

BTW I was told at BOTI that our show is the same day as your car show. I'm sorry I did would have tried for a differnt day if I would have known. I appreciate seeing your crew at my shows.

Sorry i hope i wasnt too rude. That was my only problem with you shows. Our crew is big on car shows and tuner events and we try to catch all the good ones and Drift Fest Has a tone of potential (Sorry my spelling sucks) So i just wanted to really get the point across. Once you get a bad rap its hard to come back. So i tried to bring attention the things that could be done better. Thanks for listening to our complaints and not getting to mad

You dont have to have the classes on the trophies try just the event (Drift Fest) and place (1st 2nd or 3rd) thats how alot of shows like Sittin Pretti do, except the big ass comercial shows that are always full like HIN. that way any left over trophies you save for the next show. I did have a lot of fun i and sevral others just didnt like the blank trophies. I also pre reg for everthing I definetly understand its hard to know what to expect when people dont pre reg. Other times you just gota hope for the best. Turning people away lets them know they nead to pre reg next time.

Yah its a bummer our shows are both on the same day i really wanted to go again. i did have a great time. the nice thing is our show ends with time to catch the pros at yours.

I also am going to try to send our drift car to both friday and Satuday.(if we can get it done in time) Our driver is fairly new and we just got a new ride that neads some track time for adjustments. Its a turbo Mustang 2002 with the 2006 full body conversion.

Zane, mad props for the great responses. I came across harsh, and now I look like a dipshit. :( I think mailing out the plaques qwould be the most cost effective way....but that's just me.

Very nice choice for Drift Cars. I know you guys pre register, I was going to leave that out but I try to make people aware of what happens. Many people hide behind papers or sit and collect money. I think a show on a larger scale can be done with same personal feel as small shows. The sittin pretti and Can Am are proof of that. They listen to the people who attend and make things better every year. I want to someday say I have had a 10 year running show.

I think the Drift Fest and 1st 2nd 3rd is a good idea. probably way we are going to go. then possibly do a mail system for odd ball classes. Like if we have 5 Kia's or Neons just cover major ones and ones we know before hand.

As for sounding rude. I take offense to very little except personal attacks like Hey you stupid piece of $h!t. So please always feel free to express any concerns, here, in PM, Email, call, stop me at a show or what ever.

Dont feel that way. It is something we have been trying to work on. We have had the same statements at 3 shows this year.(drift fest, Portland Car Toys, and Seattle Car Toys) the problem for us was we try to have different trophies for our shows. So its like wasted money when we come home with 10 extra trophies, and a dozen plaques. at the same time we dont want to give away tons of trophies and cheapen things for those who put hard work into there vehicle and then someone walks away with a best truck, or Best JDM when its stock but they are the only one there.

I think the feed back I have gotten here is the best idea. and if some are upset because they have oddball make and didnt pre register. then maybe they will next time. But the majority will be happy.

Yeah. You can't make everyone happy. But hey, I don't even have any idea how much thought and work goes into putting on a show. If only I could be at DriftFest AND the RainState show at the same time. :(

One thing I was thinking of is. If someone from Rain State posted any future events that they are going to or are producing on Phatlane.com I would make sure not to schedule anything on those dates and also may try to make it out to say HI and support the other things happening in the community.

Yah we only do one event a year of our own. Besides BBQ's and car drives wich we do randomly with short notice. We go to lots of shows though. We will be at global this next weakend.

We apologize about the inconvenience and had been working to resolve this issue to no avail. All Drift registration and Show registrations along with tickets will be honored on this day. If you have any question feel free to contact me at Zane@urbanlifeproductions.com . Event info for the October 23rd date should be up by September 21st. Once again we apologize for the issues this may cause you.
