just curious to see if anyone went to dream cruise this week...i was there in my mp3 it was awesome......there was a ferrari enzo there parked on the lawn in pontiac...But other than that it was sweet to have the only mp3 there making my car the most rare there other than the ferrari....other than that there were a ton of sweet muscle cars....and good times were had by all

There was a Renault, and Bentley there. I wouldn't say your car was rare at all. There were plenty of P5's there as well. Just because the other 50 in town didn't cruise, doesn't mean your car is rare.

I had fun messing with people out there. I told some guy with a mid 70's vette "Nice Mustang", after a bewildered look, I told him "I only kidding, I know it's a Camaro." He was pissed :D There were a bunch of others I messed with too. Some hick in a jimmy told my buddy his SRT-4 was Japanese, and to get it out of there. We chewed him pretty good too, then he turned around after he realized his stupidity.

i would consider only 1500 mp3's rare, and i am sure that some are no longer around
Uncommon, yes, rare because it happened to be the only one in the cruise? No. Yes I'm sure some have been totaled as well, but wait 10 years when many have been driven to death and totaled, then they'll be rare. I've still seen a hand full of Galant GVR4's, which there were only 1000 of those made back in the early 90's. There were a lot of nice cars out there though. I even saw 2 AE86's.

how many mp3's are there in michigan?! i do not own a p5 either, so out of the 5 or so mp3's in michigan, and for me to have only seen one out in the area that i was cruising in i would consider that rare

mp3 boy, what color is yor ride? i saw a blue one at game works in april parked right next to my speed. was it you?

There's an orange one around Oxford too, actually 2, one has a weird bronzish colored window tint, the other one doesn't. Again, just because it was the only one that you saw, does not mean it's as rare as an Enzo, like you were implying.

Another thing to keep in mind: Rarity and desirability are two different things.

For instance, if there were only 1500 AMC Gremlins made in 1977 with with 15" wheels and 8-track players, would anyone really care?

Conversely, if there were 1500 Lamborghini Countach Quattrovalvole 25th Anniversary Editions (there were actually only 650), it would be a much bigger deal and appeal to a wider, more diverse audience.

Not saying that a Mazda mp3 isn't rare or desirable, only that it's still just a Mazda and mostly unremarkable compared to other Mazdas.
It's simply not in the same class as an Enzo.

i was never implying that the car is as rare as an enzo, i was just merely commenting that the car is rare to find, and under appreciated, i am not trying to turn this into a pissing contest by any means, i was just mearly saying that i felt good due to the fact that i was the only mp3 in the section of the cruise that i was participating in......that was all that i meant by it and then scotthidley had to make a smart a$$ comment about it that wasn't really necessary. Desirability would be in the eyes of the individual then, because some people want other cars more than other individuals. You can't really put a desirabilityness (and yes i think i just made up a word) on any one car due to the fact that some individuals may not desire a car as much as the next person

It's exactly what you implied, from your original post:

"it was sweet to have the only mp3 there making my car the most rare there other than the ferrari"

I'm a smart ass because I checked your ego for you? Whatever.

(kicks self in head) sorry about that i guess i didn't pay attention to exactly how i worded it at first and i really didn't mean for it to come off like that...
