The Mazda dealer is going to let you install an aftermarket downpipe and let you keep your warranty? That is amazing...

i spoke to the master tech here, he directs all the service and s*** and he is mechanic, he said he doesnt care about the downpipe and he knew abotu the turbos seal problem and said he would fix it if i had a problem. what about the price tho? seem fair? ive heard how hard it is to do teh swap and i think i would take mroe than 3 hours to do it myself and probably break something

The price is tad high, however, you know it will be done right, and since they are choosing to warranty the car despite the mod, it would be better to have them do it so there can be no excuses if something goes wrong.

dealerships always charge a lot for labor, but hey if they will guarentee the work, keep your warranty, and you dont have to swap it out for inspections, that would be a great deal!

no problem dude, yeah its expensive but shoot, if i could keep my warranty I'd pay that for sure and have them do it. Sounds like a great deal

I would too! In a heartbeat, but I think his dealer is the exception, not the rule.

Sweet! So if my car starts smoking, I'm driving the 1 1/2 hours to go to your dealer for service.

the guy wouldnt **** me over or anything, he said just basic stuf like exhaust pipes and s*** dont bother him, as long as boost stays stock and i dont change s*** like ecu and stuff he doesnt care, (what reflash)?

The dealer is only part of the warranty equation. You would still have the Mazda rep to deal with if there's a serious problem. And is the dealer gonna take out the DP and reinstall the stocker if the rep decides to pop in for a visit? If so, will it be for free or for another $300 bucks? This isn't the dream answer it's being made out to be.

Unless this is completely under the table with no paper trail whatsoever, I find it hard to believe that a reputable dealer would remove anything from the cat forward to replace it with an unapproved part. I think the potential fine is $25K per incident and they could conceivably cause trouble for Mazda as well.

florida, no. we used to have emissions checks but they removed a while ago. jeb bush i believe decided that it would save motorists alot of money and time.

my dealership was helpful too. They said as long as I do not run high boost and throw a rod I am fine. If you have the money go ahead. As you mentioned before it will be done right and if you have issues i would think the tech will take an interest in solving the problems. Sounds like you got lucky 561 and should take advantage of a good Tech!
