Down pipe & cat eliminator Group Buy!

there is a post that I made when I went to the track that is on the 2nd or 3rd page of this forum that is titled went to the track it has the full time list

So is the CEL problem still gone?

Britt

I've run a sample pipe on this set-up and have not had a CEL problem. Not to say one won't develope eventually, but I'm not anticipating any problems. Also, it looks as though I can have my pipe ready for sale sometime next week. All of my parts came in and I've had my acetalyn tanks refilled. I'm ready to rock on this thing. How many definates do we have so far?

yeah, the sound is a bit grumb-lier...if that's a word! I'm not 100% sure that it's because of the cat removal. I also cut off my resonator and welded in a straight pipe. I've noticed the most noise around 3200rpms as a highway cruising speed. It sounds like a low growl, but nothing obnoxious. I don't have pics yet and probably won't before the pipes are complete. I will actually have 10-15 pipes completed and ready to ship in the time it would take me to get pictures online. I'm shooting for $150+ship on each pipe which will be a good deal I think since you'll be able to keep the stock cats and be able to swap in under 30 minutes for those unlucky enough to have to deal with emssisions. Alabama doesn't have any checkpoints or laws about it.....yet.

Yo Turbo Matty P ,If you are gonna try and sell a new pipe how bout you break off into another thread. From the sounds of it you are just making a cat-eliminator pipe,is this true?If not ,then what exactly are you making?I don't know why you are even trying to do this because it will be hard to beat the quality of the pipes that Apex is making! We have already seen them, and also seen the dyno numbers!Where are your dyno numbers??????Hmmm.....kinda makes me wonder???So you are saying that you would rather just ship out pipes before people get to see them?I'm sorry,I don't know how many guy's will go for that.I like to know what i'm getting before i spend my hard earned dollars on it!So like I said before ,If you want to try to market something ,GET YOUR OWN POST!The money you are talking about in difference prob won't make up for itself in the looks or the quality of your product!I could be wrong, but the only way to prove me wrong is to post some pics and dyno numbers!

I know i'll be waiting!

first off, don;t take a negative tone with me because I don't have a picture of anyhting yet. I'm still in the planning phase and working out all of the logistics. I will stay in this post as long as I damn well please because what I'm offering is the same product the other guy is offering. Who gives a damn what the pipe looks like anyway? How many people have you heard at the drag strip asking to see your cat-eliminator pipe? " Is it stainless steel? How many imperfections are on this pipe?" NONE. The people I'm offering this pipe to are the ones who want somehting functional, quality and CHEAP. I'm using 100% ALUMINUM. 2.25" OD with no mandrel bend. Aluminum is much cheaper and lasts a very long time <I've personally had aluminum exhausts 10 years with no rust or leaks> As far as the bend is concerned, I'm using a larger diameter pipe to offset some of the flow, but THE PERFORMANCE GAINS ON THIS PIECE ARE NOT MADE BY THE 1 BEND. THEY ARE MADE BY LOSING THE RESTRICTION THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTOR PROVIDES. The test pipe I've made and installed on my car made a definite difference in "seat-of-the-pants" dyno. I know this isn't ACTUAL numbers, but my plan was to provide actual REAL WORLD numbers by testing the stock pipe and my pipe ON THE DRAGSTRIP. I don't have access to a cheap/free dyno to provide concrete numbers for you "number-******". If I did pay for dyno time I'd just have to raise the cost of my pipe to compensate for it. As far as pictures go, I can get you some pictures in the next few days, possibly saturday. I was looking to see how many people would be SERIOUSLY interested in a quality made CHEAP pipe that would provide a REAL WORLD difference. It is NOT a crime for me to post my own ideas on this board and I seriously doubt "it will be hard for me to beat the quality of pipe APEX is making" If you want to pay WAY too much for a pipe with 1 bend in it because it's mandrel or stainless steel PLEASE DO SO. However, EVERYTHING I have seen on THIS thread says, "that is too much to pay for that pipe". I'm making a good pipe at a good price. If you want a shiny pipe buy mine and buff it. I can't believe I'm catching s*** from someone who's driving a NEON right now anyway.

Hey you know what Turbo matty P,The pipe Apex is making is 2.5 inches big difference!and yes quality is worth money! As for the post issue, god if you want to see who is interested you would be better off starting a new thread that most people havent read.If your not that bright ,Iwouldn't purchase anything you made because you obviously don't have any kind of business sense!I would start a new thread so people would read it and show their interest! So now not only did you piss me off but you made yourself look like a jack ass in the process!

Now that i'm riled up,I think it's time to start a fire!(flame) Off to Flamewars i go !

A 2.5" pipe is nice and yes I did look into that. Had anyone infromed you the rest of the exhaust system is 2.25" and the fact that his preliminary pipe is larger only adds restriction later on. Staying uniform all the way through is the goal here. IF for some reason 2.5" pipe is all that mattered to you I can make your pipe in 2.5" FOR NO DIFFERENCE IN COST. I don't think you fully understand the situation at hand. We are both offering an exhuast pipe that has no cats in it. We are both offering bolt-on installation. we are both offering THE SAME QUALITY. How do you know his pipe is going to be better than mine? Because of the tubing used? The only difference between stainless steel and aluminum (when used in exhausts) is the shine of the pipe. Who in the hell is going to look under your car to make sure it's shiny in ONE SECTION ONLY?? I'm finished with you. You are the only person to have anything negative to say to me at all. Feel free to buy anyhting you want for your car. Feel free to pay whatever you want for something for your car. For those people who are budget-minded and want a QUALITY, INEXPENSIVE part feel free to email me off list @ SVTMATTY@BELLSOUTH.NET with the subject header "custom exhaust". For interested parties I can have my pipe ready to ship within the week. I'm just sending out feelers right now for interest. Thanks.

Well obviuosly you have never "SHOWN" a car as the judges at major shows do get under your ride and check out everything.Hell ,some of them do the white glove in your door jambs.I like to go fast and show ,I also like to know that when i buy something its not half-ass(not saying your pipe is)But i do things for performance gains and to earn much needed points at various car shows. That means that everything that goes on "MY" cars is of the highest quality. So if you just want to go fast GREAT!If you want that extra special touch that sets you apart from the crowd,Well then i guess asthetics count too!And by the way SS is by far more superior to aluminum when it comes to exhaust! And the thermal coating will help increase the flow by keeping the exhaust temps up "INSIDE" the exhaust which helps the exhaust flow!As for the issue with the rest of the exhaust being 2.25 ,Yes it is but how many people getting a D/P do you think plan on keeping the ultra-quiet small factory msp exhaust when upgrading to a 2.5" full exhaust would benefeit us even more!I know i'm upping my full exhaust to 2.5" !How many other people who are buying a D/P plan upgrading their ex. th 2.5" turbo back????????

you're an idiot, quit spamming my posts because I'm not making concourse quality "show" pieces. I'm making affordable horsepower. Read my previous post about who I'm talking to. Also, if you're so worried about the white glow treatment from judges at high end car shows your stupid ass wouldn't have bought a damn Protege. You would've bought a BMW, Porsche, hell even Cobra. All of these cars have much higher demand, resale value, and popularity. We bought our cars because they're a great value for the money. And in keeping with that, my pipe is a great value for the money. No'one on this list bought an MSP because it was the fastest car on the road. We bought them cause they look cool and we can still make aour monthly payments (well, some of us make our OWN payments, others have mommy pay for theirs). My previous post still stands: Anyone wanting a quality piece at a good price contact me. If my product doesn't meet your "white glove" standards, then go buy something else.

Dude you are awfully cocky for a newbie! And you obviously don't know s*** about shows because its definately not about benz's,BMW's and Cobra's.I did buy my MSP for its awesome looks and great performance! My last show winning ride was no Benz either, but it did have Lexus tail lights in it(NOT ALTEZZAS,GS400 tails molded in)not that you can see any ones perspective but your own !So the last time I checked ,My name started this thread!Just go make a new post ,you will get so much more feedback!Don't be hard-headed if you are trying to sell something,Your not proving any point here but that your a jack -ass!Thank you and i'm done(scratch)

I'm a newbie?? Oh, I have lower post counts than you so you're better or more knowledgeable than me?? Is that how it works? I guess my 9+ years working on cars or my 3 years being ASE certified or my collection of antique mustangs doesn't count for much. Well, obviously post-count is all that makes you important here. I guess any s***-smear with a keyboard can feel important here. Kid, you're an idiot. I make typo's, but you can't even spell "jackass". Feel free to start any thread you want. I'll make sure to jump in and offer up my $.02. I know it won't be validated because my post count won't be as high as some of these other 14yr olds, but I'm still going to offer my help, advice, and services to the people who would like to be WELL informed by a PROFESSIONAL. Unless you have anything else helpfull to offer this thread maybe YOU should quit posting here. Enjoy your Neon Cubby.
