double exhaust

There is a girl that was in Toronto, moved to BC, that had dual exhaust on her P5. It was sweet.

when you say double, do you mean dual? like with two mufflers?
if so, then no, no it can't.

well really it can but it is rather pointless to have an exhaust pipe for every 2 cylinders. it would be like having 4 mufflers on the back of a V8 engine powered car.

the only "dual exhaust" is to have the 1 pipe split off into 2 mufflers... which is pretty pointless. unless you want it just for looks, if then just bolt up a 2nd muffler not attached to anything :p

Can you get the magnaflow system they made for the wings west car? I emailed Wings West at the beginning of the week and they never responded.

I realize that dual exhaust is kind of pointless on a 2.0L but I want it!

I asked a while ago and all they told me was that it was custom, and they have no plans for production. It wouldn't hurt to ask if they can "custom" make one for you though.

Yes, for a 4 cylinder car, a dual exhaust won't do anything. However, it might look "cool" and sound "better". This is all subjective of course :D.

It would probably help a little if you had a turbo..
it will not help at all
and in some cases where its not routed right it will become more of a restriction than anything else.

but it does add a nice effect in the car.
to do this right you need to relocate the muffler to where the resonator is now and bring the tailpipe over the rear suspension.
then branch it off. using the largest diameter you can fit logically which would be no more than 2.25-2.5

I've always wanted a dual exhaust on my p5 but on one side there wouldn't be a muffler and on the other side there would. You can buy the inline switches to switch from to two sides w/ or wo/ muffler. The hard part is to make it look good and Do ya think there would be any gains from not having the restriction of a muffler? I bet it would sound good.

please refer to the above post.
i answered how it can be done.:D

Might be some room near the back for a cross flow mufler... that might work. Then essentiallty it is still a single muffler so no real losses... just two pipes coming out of the muffler instead of one.

Just an idea.

Hmmm. . . most interesting. I've been trying to figure out how to wedge two mufflers in there, but I didn't give much thought to throwing one underneath the car and just bringing out the pipes. Thanks for the idea Perfworks. I'll probably be doing this some time in the near future. Need to get a new rear skirt first. Maybe the DG piece.

Here you go all.. just a little snippit from the girl in BC with the dual exhausts.. it's been done by a company called Brullen in Ontario.. it was custom fabricated, muffler's and all.. great reviews heard about this gentleman that runs this establishment

duals2.gif

Link doesn't work...

also i will say for certain tht wou will lose power in doing this .. and even adding a cold air intake would barely bring it back to normal .. I just added Two Apex N1 style pipes to the Eclipse I am working on and it gave it a decent loss in power untill i added the CAI and it seem just about normal now and at times seems slightly improoved

Wow, I saw the link and got excited. . .what a let down when it didn't work. Any contact info for the gentleman doing the "kit"?
