I recently installed the speaker wiring in the doors of my '07 Mazda3, which required running 14ga speaker wire through the door molex and wire boot. The boot covers a plastic piece that holds the wire in place to the door, and the plastic piece clips into the door and the rubber boot seals against it. I ended up breaking one of the four tabs that secures the wire harness on the driver's side door, and it's no longer sealing to the door. If it's not sealed, the bass drops out since the the door becomes a speaker housing with a big hole. A few pictures of the harness so you know what I'm talking about (not of my car)...
I currently have the boot sealed to the door with electrical tape and it seals. Still, I'd like to replace the piece. I'm wondering if anyone has any lead on where I could get just this white plastic harness clip. The local Mazda dealership says that the piece alone is not available and that it would require buying an entire door wire harness. At $330, it's not an option. I can try my luck at a junkyard, but if someone has access to an unused harness from a wreck and can sacrifice the white clip part of the harness, I'd love to buy it.
