Hello,
I have a 2000 Mazda Proteg ES w/ 97k miles. For a couple years now, my doors have been having problems. Let's begin at the origins of this problem.
At first, one door (I don't remember which one, but it was one of the rear ones) would not completely open at times, or close at times. One or two years later, all the doors began to do this. Now, which any "lock" switch, weather on the remote control, driver's side switch, or manually, some of the doors will not lock from time to time, or will not open from time to time. (The side used for manual opens of course becuz the key is used.) But they all do open occasionally, but some of the locks do not open majority of the time. I have checked the fuse, its ok. I check the door lock control module under the dash and am suspecting that. I can hear the clicking sound. Also, when I hit the lock, unlock switch without any pause, you can here the acutators diminishing in sound until you dont hear any locking or unlocking, but all you hear is the click from the control unit. The door actuators act like they have a battery, when the battery dies, the actuators stop locking/unlocking - after a brief pause, they begin or lock/unlock again until the battery dies out again (from continuous lock/unlock).
Help.
