Door Problem

Hello,
I have a 2000 Mazda Proteg ES w/ 97k miles. For a couple years now, my doors have been having problems. Let's begin at the origins of this problem.
At first, one door (I don't remember which one, but it was one of the rear ones) would not completely open at times, or close at times. One or two years later, all the doors began to do this. Now, which any "lock" switch, weather on the remote control, driver's side switch, or manually, some of the doors will not lock from time to time, or will not open from time to time. (The side used for manual opens of course becuz the key is used.) But they all do open occasionally, but some of the locks do not open majority of the time. I have checked the fuse, its ok. I check the door lock control module under the dash and am suspecting that. I can hear the clicking sound. Also, when I hit the lock, unlock switch without any pause, you can here the acutators diminishing in sound until you dont hear any locking or unlocking, but all you hear is the click from the control unit. The door actuators act like they have a battery, when the battery dies, the actuators stop locking/unlocking - after a brief pause, they begin or lock/unlock again until the battery dies out again (from continuous lock/unlock).

Help.

im not sure if this will help but heres my .02: my driver door would not lock and it was the motor that powers the lock was broken. it was a b**** to take out and replace but i had a grinding sound when it was broken and now its fine that it is fixed

I have the same problem with my 99 LX. Out of no where the passenger door in front wouldn't lock or unlock with my remote entry. Now anytime someone wants to get in I have to manually do it with my hand. No big deal, but anytime I try to use the remote entry that door makes a loud noise.

I have that problem sometimes.Try cleaning around the part where you can manually open it with a Qtip and alcohol.Dirt builds up in this area and makes it stick. If that doesn't help you can take the door panels off and WD40 the actuators.

Does anyone have a clue how to turn off the automatic door locking feature? I have a 2000 Protege and when I turn on the ignition, all of the doors lock. Not to big of a problem unless I leave the car running and get out, then the doors lock. What a pain!
