Don't Make This Mistake!!!!!!!

i still have my premier deh p-730 for sale.... never any problems with any of there equipment.. try etronics.com thats the best i say. hope you get that fixed, non dealer bastards

why don't you ask them if they are going to warranty the next one 1st???? that would be the smartest thing to do man...if they say no then most likely they will sell you a piece of crap again..

Well, I'll probably end up regretting this (LOL) but... I just HAD to do it!!

(long read so here's the clff notes)

###not sending him $25 and getting another unit sent back to me on my dime. just doesn't make any financial sense. ###Asked for a full refund and will buy one of these models from Etronics (since it'll be NEW and covered under warranty) instead.### threw in a dash of "I'll sue your ass if you don't comply" along with everything above.

crossing my fingers... wish me luck guys!!

Hi Marc,

I've been thinking about this ordeal alot. After speaking with some people, including lawyers, I feel that my best course of action is to simply send this unit back to you and receive a full refund. Please understand that this isn't personal. It's obvious to me that you're an honest/nice guy who didn't try to screw anyone over here. However, your auction said this model was new. Clarion says it's a refurb and that because I got it from an unauthorized dealer, they don't offer a warranty. That said, it costs a minimum of $115 to fix these units and there's no way I want to be in THAT situation at anytime while I have this unit. This is the main reason I'm asking for a refund. Naturally I will box everything up and ship it back to you the way it came. If you look at your ebay auction , there isn't any fine print about one not being able to exchange or make returns. No, "all sales final" blurbs so this should be an option for me. If it- for some crazy reason- isn't an option, well then I'll either have no choice to persue this legally (something I defintiely don't want to do because I know, though I'll prevail in the end, it'll mean me going a LOOOONG time without a headunit.) That's not cool!

See this from my point of view. Paying you an extra $25 (plus shipping) to receive yet another model that's most likely a refurbished headunit that might very well do the same thing... leaving me in the same situation... having no choice but to do this all over again with you, or pay Clarion $115, well that's just not cool. (sorry for the run-on there) Especially when Etronics (an authorized dealer) sells this model for $250 (plus $15 shipping). All in all, though it's more expensive, (only by $18 after my shipping cost and $25 is factored into the mix) it's really a dumb move on my part. I'll pay $18 for piece of mind. Hopefully you understand... I'm not exactly thrilled with all of this either but you must understand where I'm coming from. If for some absolutely crazy reason you're not able to issue me a refund, short of me persuing some type of legal recourse (which I don't want to do!) I feel an exchange of the defective for (hopefully one that WILL work) is the only other option. Paying an additional $25 just doesn't sit well with me here. I may regret this because I might be getting into something "ugly" here but... I gotta do what's right. If your auction said "all sales final/these models are refurbs/no warranty/no exchanges of any kind" then I wouldn't have a leg to stand on. However, that isn't the case. I just want what's fair. I'm not expecting to hear from you till after the New Year so don't worry if you can't get back to me till then. Though this isn't "cool", it's not the end of the world and there are far more important things to think about in life. So don't stress yourself out over this. Let's just find a resolution that make sense.

Happy New Year!

Very well put...any decent person would honor your request, and let's hope Marc does.

Good luck, and let us know what his reply is.

BTW, here is your chance to go on and get that Alpine hu. :D

Error 6 means the deck can't read the CD you put in.

You aren't using burned CDs are you?

We tell customers this all of the time...It is electronic, made by people, anything can happen. I see Alpine, Pioneer, PPI...all go bad sometimes. Nothing is flawless. That is why you buy from a authorized dealer and get the warrenty...
