hi i have a question i have a k&n intake on my 09 speed with a forge bov and a trz rear dogbone with the upgrades i have mainly the intake is tuning neccesary at this point?
awesome i notcied in your mod list the turbo inlet pipe when you nstalled that did it make a diffrence in erfomance that was noticable
Yes, but it's not a power mod. You'll get smoother acceleration/powerband and quicker turbo spool. I know this because I used to ride through some back road when car was stock and wouldn't use 5th gear ,but after the install of the intake and inlet car would ask me to shift to 5th. If you install it don't be looking for that performance just drive like you always do and you'll notice rpm will climb quicker than usual. Also, your intake suction noise well get louder. Since the turbo inlet is placed between intake and turbo I say might as well upgade and complete the package. Since the install I have no problems with the PG TIP and you don't need a tune.

You have little clue to what you're talking about.
An intake (especially when combined with an inlet pipe) or a tune is certainly a 'power' mod as many people see gains upwards of 20whp with an intake and inlet alone.
What do you think is making the revs climb faster? Power.
To answer the OP's question; no, a tune is not required if you install an intake (sri/cai/tip/or a combo w/ a tip) but there is potential for more power and/or smoother power delivery if it is tuned.

Dark needs to go out and see if chickens had laid eggs or something lol.
@ MSMS3
I have done datalogs before and after installing the TIP. I agree that anyone that claims to have an increase in power is suffering from the placebo effect....however.
Datalogging shows that the turbo will spool 100-300 rpm sooner in the powerband, pushing the powerband to the left. so, it doesnt make more peak power, only more area under the curve at the bottom end.
HHMMMmmm,
a potential rod breaker then ??
only if your a dumbass and go WOT at 1800rpm
once again, you being a dick. And yes, I can tell you from experience that a TIP does not warrant more than 5HP (Maybe.) That being said, it does add a nice noise, and the turbo spools much faster, and boost recover is much better. One does not install a TIP for power. The reason you are seeing 20HP from an Intake and Inlet is because the Intake is replacing that garbage stock airbox and freeing up some power. 90% of said gains are most likely coming from the CAI or SRI alone.

Of course it has potential to make power but alone its self is not a power mod. If it was then why don't vendors put up hp numbers and say this is how much HP you well gain, like they do with intakes. The reason I say it's not a power mod is because alot of people instal them expecting to make power like an intake. Then they come here and say stuff like they didn't feel a difference. But thats your opinion, I'll stick with mines.
You two nancys need to man up and stop whining like little girls. Crying about someones post isn't going to change what you've read.
Look who's talking. Seems to me you are crying lol.
