ill start off by tell when i 1st seen it.
me and my girl were driving down the highway and she said there goes a pretty little car for you so we turn around and go back to the car lot, it was closed for the day. The next day me, my girl, and my grandma went back to look at it. Well after her looking at it she liked it alot and bought it for me. i had to call my uncle to come drive it home for me *(couldnt drive a stick at the time). it started raining that day so my gmaw wouldnt let me learn to drive it and it rained the whole week, it about killed me, but when i did start driving it it wasnt that bad. i fell in LOVE with the car.
thats my little story from when i 1st seen my car :)

i would like to hear you alls storys too.

loved these cars ever since seeing the mp3 in sport compact car back in the day. when time came to get rid of my mirage and i got some money together, i started looking. took me a while to find one cause they were like 15k back in the summer of 06. found a mint black one in white marsh and decided to buy it. the owner hydrolocked the motor on the way to meet me. found a nice titanium a couple of months after that. the rest is history

Damn, thats a rough break. For both parties, lol.

I remember it well. It was May 2003, and there were two Mazda dealers in my area that were selling the MSP. Both dealerships were about an hour away, so I hit them up on the same day to see what was in stock. The first dealership only had 1 black MSP on their lot, and they refused to let me drive it unless I was ready to "talk numbers". Since at that time, I was still considering this against several other similarly classed cars (Acura RSX-S, Dodge SRT-4, Mini Cooper S, Subaru WRX, etc), I really wanted to get a feel for the car.

So, I made my way to the 2nd dealership. On their lot, they had 1 black and 1 Spicy. I test drove the Spicy, and LOVED it. After a bit of spirited driving with the salesman, I decided I wanted an MSP. I left, as I still wanted to secure financing ahead of time (as I had just turned 20 in May of '03). I came back the following week, ready to pick up my Spicy Orange MSP. Arrived at the dealership, only to be heartbroken to discover that the car I wanted...MY car...had just been sold 2 days prior.

I didn't want the car in black, so feeling a little dejected I left. I decided the WRX was a little out of my price range and the SRT-4 handled like dookie in my opinion. So I begrudgingly made my way to the Mini dealership to get myself into a new Cooper S. About 30 minutes after leaving the Mazda lot, the salesman I had talked to gave me a call. He told me to come back to the lot and that he promised me that he could sell me something that would be even better than a Spicy. Skeptical but willing to hear him out, I headed back. As soon as I rolled up into the dealership in my janky '97 Cavalier, I knew what he meant. They were literally pulling the BRAND NEW '03.5 Silver and Yellow MSP's off the delivery truck. Still covered in that white plastic stuff, I made up my mind that I would be driving home in a Blazing Yellow car. After working out a deal, I got my new car, still just 4 miles on the odometer. And the one hour drive took about 3 hours, because I had to stop and show all my friends on the way home.

3 and a half years later, I wish I could have said I loved the car 1/10th the amount the day that I got it...

But oh well!

:)

It all began back in February 2004... I decided it was time for me to buy my first new car and really liked how the Mazda 6 looked. I went to the dealership & told them what I wanted to which they replied I couldn't afford it. The sales woman then asked if I knew about the Mazdaspeed Protege. I had read an article or two on them and remembered the conclusions were that bang for the buck you couldn't buy a more fun to drive car so I decided to take it for a spin. The MSP they brought around for me to drive didn't have a shift knob so I asked where it was and the sales woman told me that Mazdaspeed accessories were very hot and they were stolen out of the cars on a regular basis probably by the service guys but if I decided to buy the car they would get me a new shift knob. So I test drove it without the shift knob on some curvy back roads around my way and was sold. They only had a couple left on the lot and they were trying to clear them out so they would give me it for somewhere in the neighborhood of 19K. I said I needed to sleep on it and when I came back I was told the blue one I had test drove was being bought. I almost bought a yellow which is my least favorite of the colors (No offense meant to any of you that own a yellow) because I loved how the car drove so much. Again I went home to mull over buying a yellow one and received a call the next day from the sales woman saying that the person who was trying to buy the blue didn't qualify so it was available. I was ready to go sign the papers but my dad asked if I had checked other dealerships which I told him I did online briefly. He did some research and found that the Arlington Mazda dealership had a college graduate deal rebate going on for the couple MSP's they had left on their lot for just under $16K. I never went to college so I didn't qualify for that rebate but I called the sales woman who I had been dealing with to tell her thanks for all her help but I was going to get one from Arlington for $15,989 if I remember correctly. She put me on hold to go talk to her manager and came back to tell me her manager agreed they would let me have the blue one for that price. I went in that afternoon to fill out and sign the papers and several hours later was the proud new owner of a brand new laser blue MSP with like 7 miles on it for under $16KI thanked my dad more sincerely than I ever had before in my life for the heads up he gave me. When I went in to start the paperwork it was a chilly, sunny day out but after I signed on the dotted line it was night time and snowing. A couple inches had accumulated while I was inside and it took me almost 30 minutes to get my new girl off of the lot with those summer performance tires on it. The entrance/exit to the dealership was on a slight incline and I kept sliding sideways. I almost hit a couple new cars parked right there on the lot but finally made it out. Then I almost got into a couple accidents driving her home which is like 5 miles away from the dealership because I was sliding all over the place. I was freaking out but we made it home without crashing and have been happy ever since (mostly). Sorry if that was a long story but you asked.

I was wanting a bug eye WRX bad. I was set on getting a WRX, but back in 06 I couldn't find one for around 10k. I had 10k cash that I was willing to spend and I was not going to finance anything. I was looking at a autotrader for a WRX when I was flipping through and seen a car that said 2.0 turbo 12,000 bucks. I looked it and was like wow.... that is a sexy looking car but s*** its yellow. I had never heard of the msp. so i went back to the comp and found a black mica with 18k miles for 12,000 dollars. I drove to meet the guy that owned it and ended up driving it home. I got it for WAY less that 12k. It has a rebuilt title but besides the body kit (Wings west kit) it was a really nice car. I ended up paying 8k for it and I have loved the car every second I have owned it. It has never let me down unless I caused it, coupler blowing off when i did the fmic and the lsd broke at the track. Its been a great car. now its got 61k miles on it.

i just saw it yesterday. its looking all lonely sitting there by itself

I know and I start to get sad when I think of her sitting up there all lonely. I've really been missing her the last week or so to the point I thought about asking Damian to send me a pic but then realized that was pretty silly. But when she is ready to come home in the near future she will be better than ever!

I had seen a protege speed ti back when i still had my green NB, it couldn't keep traction for s*** and the blow off valve was going off every other three seconds. Needless to say i didn't have a good experience with them the first time i saw one. But one day while i was driving my wife to work i look over at this dealership that i pass everyday low and behold a yellow msp was sitting in the parking lot, i was like what the s*** i'll go look at it(with absolutely no intention of buying it). So for the next week i completely dismiss having looked at the car. After awhile i went back when they were open to just look at it and they dealers like i'll give you 5k for the miata on trade in(got it for 4700 and it was not anywhere worth 5k with a ripped seat and top), so i take it for a ride the dealer asked me not to dog it so just a trip out and back. But after reviewing the parts list on that car i decided it was a future investment due to the fact that it has 4 doors, turbo, suspension and all that jazz. So i went to the bank got a loan and here i sit today with my yellow speed.

i started lookin for a car during my junior year of highschool. well this guy at my school had a mp3. i was like......woah!!!!! dude wtf is that!!!!!!! lol. well i did some research and found out that there was this thing called an msp. so i started searchin on autotrader and stuff for a while but i didnt really find anything. so i started lookin at other cars and stuff but then my dad was like. hey! what do u think of this car and behold it was my black 2003 msp. i was like this sunday, give me my cash im gettin it and well.......i got it!!!!!!!!!!!!march of 09 XD

I was out taking my grandma shopping for her B-day and yet some how I ended up buying myself a car.... still not to sure how that happened but she gives me a hard time to this day about it.

All she sais now is that sall he got a yard full of flowers and her grandson got a car for her b-day. lol

I was on Duty(I'm in the military) and I had nothing better to do than to surf the internet. I'm always looking at cars so I was seeing what was for sale. I came across the MSP and was like dang, that looks sick. I clicked on it and read about it a little bit. Saw that the price was in my price range and decided to fill out a loan application online to see if I would get approved. About 45 minutes later, i got a call from my bank saying that the money was ready to be transferred to my account if I wanted to get the car after all so I was like HOLY ISH! Ok! Told the guy I was on duty with that I was going to go get a car from the dealership real quick and he said ok. What I failed to mention is that the dealer was in El Cajon, CA. We were in Yuma, AZ so it was about 3 hours away. I went, test drove it, loved it, and signed the papers. On the way home I raced a 1994 Corvette, embarrassed him, and enjoyed my new purchase. Got back to work and the dude was like, where the hell did you go?! So I told him and he was like, dang. Moral of the story is..

To be completely honest, I never intended to buy a MSP. When I started shopping for a new car, I was pretty obsessed with picking up an SRT-4. But they were hard to come by in my area -- the only one I could find was yellow. And as I'm sure most of you know, I don't do loud colors on cars. One dealership told me they might have a black SRT-4 coming in, but that a different customer had already kinda 'called dibs' on it.

My dad, who owns a 2000 Protege ES, told me to go look at the Mazda dealership where he bought his car. I wasn't really interested, but I said okay -- pretty much just to make him happy.

When we pulled up to the dealership, there was a titanium MSP sitting out in the middle of the front lawn, all by itself. Once I picked my lower jaw up outta my lap, I ran into the dealership, grabbed the first salesman I saw, and told him I wanted to test drive it. I did -- grinding second gear numerous times in the process -- but that test drive pretty much sealed the deal for me.

After some discussion with my parents that afternoon, we went back that night and put down a deposit -- and picked the car up the next afternoon. Not the one that I test drove, but a different titanium that had been hiding in the back with only 2 miles on the odometer.

And that's how I started my six-year relationship with #1276. :)
