sorry to bring up an old thread, but i must have missed this one a few days ago.......and when i saw it.........woooooooooo LOL
where to begin...
"Then there are some people who always have an excuse for why they are living with their parents....
"I have student loans to pay off."
"The job market sucks."
"I want to be able to afford more expensive toys."
"I have no credit."
Sometimes you just have to take a few chances and just go for it. Even if you have to take on a little debt and live frugal, it will eventually pay off in the long run."
First of all, explain to me how it pays off in the long run to move out when you are unemployed and get into all kinds of debt? Exactly which part of later in life does that help you out with?
And even if you have a job, like I do, how is it irresonsible and immature for me to live at home and due ot my lowered living expenses, contribute significantly to my 401k and company stock purchase plan at age 23? I guess it would be more mature, if I moved out, was on a really tight budget, and didnt start thinking of my retirement until I was 30......now THATs thinkin.
And guess what else, not only am I 23, but im a college graduate, I am EMPLOYED, I spend income on TOYS, AND i live at home with my parents...ooooooh, isnt that terrible.
You know ceej, just because you believe in the ole "if you dont move out you're a bum/failure" cliche, doesnt make it true.
I bet you go to the grocery store, and look at a name brand item for 7 bucks, and a generic brand item for 2 bucks after coupons and you buy the 7 dollar one.......cuz if you dont buy the 7 dollar one, and if you EVER make use of coupons, then you're just a big hypocrite. Its the same thing. I have 2 products to chose from, except in my situation, the generic brand, which not only costs less, has a ton more benefits than the name brand product.
I applied for a job in Ft Lauderdale, and was gonna move there at the drop of a hat if i got it. I have spoken to HR at work to express interest in relocating to our new offices in Switzerland, Japan, and Virginia that we will be opening this year. I dont HAVE to live at home, but I am MATURE enough to look beyond the stereotype the public opinion and the cliche, and realize, that moving out at this point doesnt offer me anything. As long as my job is in this area, why wouldnt I want to live home?
Do you know an apartment complex where I will have a place to store my ATV? Or one with a few hundred acres of land I can ride it on in the back? Or one that offers a fully outfitted woodworking workshop in the basement? oh, and it has to be less than a mile from the lake I spend my summers at with friends. It should also have ZERO crime, that is to say, no possibility whatsoever using the past 20 years as reference, of any kind of theft of vandalism.
I lived on my own for 3 years while going to college. I dont see what all the hooplah is. Whats the big deal? Do all the living on their own since 18 ppl think that its a matter of people who live at home not being able to HANDLE the super big responsibility of having their own place?
The fact that you would generalize all ppl who live home past the age of 18 as being an immature group of lazy bums who need ot grow up and "become adults" merely demonstrates your ignorance and inability to make decisions without public opinon helping you along.....
