do Doorlocks work from the inside?

I know it sounds like a real noob question, but I have set function 3 or 4 and the door can open over 12 mph. (yes, I was wearing my seat belt!)

Doors will lock from the outside at 12 mph...not sure where it would ever be safe to be able to lock passengers inside.
