Display question

Hey all, just got my new Mazda 3 4-door and I have a weird question. I looked at my car's display (the orange area where the time and radio station are shown) and noticed in the sunlight that there seems to be display features to the right of where the radio station is. From what I can tell it includes stuff like whether the AC is on and how fast the fan is set.

The only problem is IT HAS NEVER TURNED ON! I live in Canada, so can you tell me, have I been screwed again as a Canadian or is this some display feature that's broken (God forbid) on my new ride?

thats for the auto climate control, which we don't have, but they do overseas.

Thats right..

We have Climate control here in Australia, as well as Ambient temperature readings which is whats missing on the far right hand side of your LCD display...

Greaaaat. So I got heated side mirrors but no climate control and no side air bags. Guess who gets the short end 'o the stick again! Hooooray

In Canada, we can get a moonroof... no HID's tho...

yeah.. here in OZ, we dun even have the moonroof as an option!!!

What is the point of offering different variations all over the world? Doesn't make more since to offer the same stuff to everyone? Is the car made at different plants and they don't have certain equipment? If that's the case, that is pretty bad. Basically, that means Mazda won't invest in the capital so they can provide the same car to everyone. Hence, we get screwed. Oh, and why the hell do I have to purchase ABS if I won't HIDs. If that's the case, then combine them into one package. I know people will say "but I only ABS and not HIDs". Well, that's exactly what we're saying. At least make if fair for everyone!!! Ok, I think I'm done ranting...but this is why I got no options and the 5-door and plan on taking my business elsewhere.

I agree so much. The worst thing I think is the side air bags forcing you to pick up the abs and in some cases way more. If you want just a basic 3i but you want the side air bags you have to buy tons of extra packages. Honda and Toyota don't dick people around like that with the Civic and Corrola. It's pretty sad for a safety feature like this imho.

I agree with that, I wanted the Blue as well... and I also wanted the Power Moon roof but didn't want the 6 disk in dash CD, but if you want one you get the other..

Canada

Models: GX, GS, GT (2.0 standard on GX/GS, 2.3 Standard on GT)
Colours: Silver, Titanium, Indigo Blue (now winning or strato), Red, Black, White, Sand and optional on GT Sunset orange Mica

Options specific to Canada: Heated Power Mirrors, Mudguards Standard on GS, GT, Rain sensing wipers, A/C is optional on all models except GT ($1000 CAD), and others (check out mazda.ca for full specs)

USA
Models: i and s
Colours: Black Mica, Rally White, Strato Blue Mica, Winning Blue Metallic, Titanium Gray Metallic, Sunlight Silver Metallic, Shimmering Sand Metallic, Solar Yellow Mica, Velocity Red Mica, Lava Orange Mica, Starlight Green Mica, Nordic Green Mica.
