You read that right folks. I have a Garrett GT28RS (otherwise known as the "Disco Potato") up and running in my Mazdaspeed.

First Special Thanks:
Chris, Seth, and Nate at SPD Racing for building my engine
Juan at HiBoost for tuning and installing all the goodies
Steve from Drag Competition (Extra special thanks for letting me borrow his car and drive it back and forth from so-cal to the bay area)
Jeff at ProParts for getting the special order ACT Clutch done on time.

I am sure there are others, but that's all I can think of right now.

A nearly full list of mods is in my signature, but here are the basics:

JE 8.5 to 1 Pistons and Pauter Rods (Ceramic and Techline Coated)
ARP Hardware
Haltech E6X
Bosch 440cc Injectors
Garett GT28RS
Walbro 255 lph Fuel Pump
AEM Wideband
ACT clutch with Extreme Pressure plate and street disc (350-375 ft tq)

This all went on in addition to the major mods I already had:

ION FMIC
ION CAI
ION Turboback 3" Exhaust
AWR High Performance Radiator

THERE ARE NO DYNO NUMBERS YET. But there will be.

We were unable to dyno tune today because the dyno shop was booked and I had to get back in town because of work tomorrow. We will be dyno tuning and reporting dyno numbers by the end of the month when I drive the car back to LA.

But for now, I have some basic maps that allow the car to run fairly well, but they still need work. I have the ability to safely run 8-15psi on California 91 octane without problems right now and let me tell you, the car pulls like it never has before, even at 8psi. It's AWESOME.

I LOVE MY MAZDASPEED!!!!!

It has been nearly a 24 hour day for me so that's all for now... I'll have photos and more updates to come....

Man i am so jealous right now. I have had all these parts sitting for my car for the longest damn time and i have been screwed over by so many people it isnt even funny.

Jhotrod: I will have your identical setup in les than one week with the exception of the lower compression and i am running a slightly bigger turbo.

Who made the map for you? Was this one of juans maps for the e6x? like the P4403 map or something?

Are you running the 3 bar map sensor?

Honestly, how hard does the car pull?! lol

Outstanding job. Can't wait to see track results. Hopefully, you can get some better gas for the runs then that CA piss water 91 octane crap. The engine needs some juice to bring it to life. Your tuners did a good job handling the octane situation.
