Disable the Passener Airbag Light?

I love my new 3, but that airbag light has GOT to go. Short term, I have covered it with electrical tape. Long term I would like to have it behave more like it did in my '12 where it only came on in the event that there was a person in the seat who wasn't heavy enough.

Is there any way to do that or is electrical tape/ black card stock the only way to go?

Fastening the seatbelt won't get rid of it unless you had X LB/KG in the seat as well for the airbag to be enabled..

Agreed, herBs. Buckling the seatbelt did not work. I think I am just going to get some black cardstock, cut to match the little light panel and cover it up.

Make it a product.
You might leave a small tiny window to let the light out like a small LED.

Lol, my Axela (mazda3 here in Japan) doesn't have that light

It does have a sensor under seat for the seatbelt reminder but no Airbag sign.
