ding protectors

Does anyone know if anyone makes ding protectors for the doors like found on hondas, hondas, etc? Preferably magnetic. I've only had my car for a few months and its getting some dings. Today while I was in the car someone rammed it with the door, but i was too timid to get out and get insurance info over some paint chips. I've been pissed at myself all day about it. Mostly because once they had to shell out $100 (or at least be threatened to), they'd never ding another car again.

Check the attachment if you dont know what I'm talking about. (original pic off ebay).

well those door ding protectors come on the low end protege..most people take them off so they have the slick look ....I would bet you can go to a dealer and ask them if they carry them and you would have just have to paint and put them on ....If you look in my sig you can see them....

Edit: I added a pic so u can see up close...They have worked for me. I got hit 2 times and it saved my door both times but when a truck "high door" hits then u get dents

protege5 has those also. a few guys have taken them off, you could see if they'd sell them if they still kept them.

sweet. They look pretty good on your car. Obviously it would look better without them, but if I doubt I would have noticed if you hadn't told me. I'm thinking sanding out the inside a little and putting magnet-strips in might work pretty well. I've heard magnetic bras tend to trap dirt and scratch the paint though, so maybe that wouldn't be good. I guess what I really need is a Saturn. lol. You can egg those and crash bikes into them and they'll only make a cool little thud noise.

He's right, the side moldings won't stop door dings. I've gotten dings all the way to the door handle level and thats just ghey. I mostly get dings from peoples rear doors because of the way most sedan rear doors are designed, the upper portion of the doors will always hit you no matter what.

I've pretty much decided that Paintless dent repair will be an annual expense, and if the door is scratch'd well I'll have to live with it till my doors fall off then I'll get them repaired. So far (crosses fingers) since my last Paint Less Dent repair no dents.

Well, I did removed my side moldings and it looked great. And whatever you do to your car, things happen. I got dinged on my fender and not on the door.

Ain't that the truth. You could drive around completely covered in bubble wrap, and some ass clown will find a way to dent it. The one thing you'll never prevent is people's being inconsiderate. (doughpoke
