As the title suggests... When I drive my car, Right as I shift and the BPV recircs. the air, my lights dim. Its not a lot and its not all the time but its noticable.

My thought was that its a grounding issue? If thats the case, do they sell a grounding kit for our cars? If its not what else would be the issue?

Thanks
Sean

My stock battery sucked. I replaced it with an optima red top and my lights don't dim anymore. Do your lights not dim when roll down your windows or turn on your A/C as well? If you only ever notice your lights dimming between shifts, that is really odd. If you had a problem with any engine ground(like what those kits mainly replace), it wouldn't be effecting your headlights.

Well yes I get slight dimming with my windows, locks, A/C (which I never use anyway) but I have never seen the lights dim when shifting... thats why it struck me as odd.

The weird part about the battery is that it was just replaced like 3 mos ago.... previous owner put in like a no name battery but its brand new none the less

Same Here

I have the same problem. I asked the dealer to look at it. He said he had a Mazda Service Bulliten addressing the issue, which said more or less "it is what it is" In other words it is due to voltage drop, the AC and other loads demand a lot of current when starting or running, thus the blinking lights.

The larger battery sounds like a great fix. I think I'll try that when mine goes bad.

my idle and lights dim when I arm my alarm on my car, lower my windows, or turn on my ac, it worries me quite a bit, i've noticed it a ton more since I installed my unichip... i have 3 extra electrical items hooked up to my car, my unichip, turbo timer, and radar dectector..
