Hi,
Does anyone know the exact measurements of each of the 3 pieces of the Racing Beat catback for the P5?

Otherwise, for those who have installed the catback, do you remember if the axleback section is the same length as the stock axleback section? i.e. is the flange between the axleback and the s-pipe in the same position as the stock exhaust? If so I can just measure my stock exhaust. Pics would be great also !

I know its a strange question, but I want to ship one across to Australia thru USPS, who are quite strict with size limits.

p.s. if there are any vendors with a catback in stock, I'm looking to buy one if the measurements are right *hint* *hint* ;)

Thanks in advance!

Mine's still in pieces at home..I can measure as soon as I can.

If packaged right, one should be able to get it all in one box.

Cool thanks Dimitrios. It'll be great if you could get the length/width/height of each piece. Much appreciated!

Coldie...I just wanted you to check this thread out as well: http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=81699&highlight=Racing+Beat

I don't have the muffler piece (out at ceramic coaters earlier this week), however, I just measured the other two pieces.

"S" piece - about 44" long end to end, overall length
Resonator is about 25" end to end
The muffler I know is easily more than 40" tip to flange.

But as you can see above, Racing Beat ships it all in one box. I'd call them up or email 'em and get specifics if you can.I'm sure they'd work with you in possibly splitting it up and sending items separately.

Hey D,
Thanks for that thread, info was very useful. I didn't find it when I was searching before...
Is the 44" measurement a straight line from flange to flange? Or is it 44" worth of pipe, following the bends? (I'm hoping it'll fit into a 42" long box coz thats USPS's maximum length to Aus).
RacingExtreme's going to help me repack into 2 boxes, so shipping should be cool.
And are you getting your muffler ceramic coated? I didn't realise people did that...
Anyways thanks for your help.
Cheers,
Coldie

It's 44" worth of pipe; but about 40" straight line (a little difficult to eyball). It should fit into a 40" box given some fudging....

I actually dropped off the entire (remaining) exhaust this morning to have it ceramic coated. It'll help keep the muffler and exhaust nice and clean and also keep the exhaust heat where it belongs: in the pipes.

Besides, stainless steel isn't corrosion proof, only corrosion resistant.

Good luck.

of the cat back systems I have seen....IF the AXEL back section is ment to be sold seperately, they are the same deminsions as the stock ones...if they are NOT ment to be able to sell them seperately they may or may not be the same.

D, phew i was really worried that it wouldn't fit into a 42" box :) thanks for taking the time to measure it!
Just curious, are you going to get the inside of the muffler coated too? wouldn't that be really hard with all the perforated tubes and chambers inside?

Nuke, i'm not sure if RB sell their catback muffler as an axleback only. but from the pics i've seen, the RB muffler looks pretty similar to the stock dimensions, which is good enough for me, coz thats less than 42" long :)
