I usually don't drive our 5 that much at night, but recently noticed the guages seem very dim. The buttons on the head unit are almost invisible, the guages are barley bright enough to see. My main problem is I can't find a way to adjust them. I have'nt tried the manual for this issue yet, there were no other thread here about it, so am I just missing something or do yours seem dim at night as well?

item #7, turn clockwise for brighter, you'll hear a beep at maximum brightness:

It is one of the buttons that you push to reset your odometer, turn it till you hear it click and your dash will be bright again. The owners manual is painfully short on information regarding this little issue.

If you turn the stick on the odometer to the right (clockwise), you'll hear a beep emmitted from the head unit just as the green display and button lights get to their brightest point...At this point, the lights will stay bright even after you turn on your parking or headlights...If the stick is not turned to the left until the unit beeps, the head unit display and button lights will dim significantly when you turn on your parking or headlights :D

Hope this helps!!!

heh, when I first go my 5 I wasn't aware of this and it was set to full time 'bright' mode. I was a bit curious why it was so eye piercing to look at at night. Then I saw the extra odometer reset button and played with it, it beeped, and I became happy :)

It's definitely in the owner's manual. I had to look it up--it's not very intuitive and certainly not what I was expecting.
