i've searched on the differences between the quarter miles times between the '02 manual and auto P5 and i haven't been able to find an auto time. does anyone know the difference in the manual and auto times?

Generally you can take about 1 second off an auto time for a manual, or add 1 second to a manual time for an auto.

For higher end cars though with advanced auto trannys, this rule doesnt always hold true.

The auto feels pretty zippy, but when u really need the power, u wouldn't belive how slow the car feels. I don't know how much of a difference 1 sec would make, would anyone know that? I'm doin physics 20 right now, but i don't wanna figure it out. If vehicle one accelerates to 100kph in 10 seconds, and vehicle 2 does it in 11 seconds, how much further ahead is vehicle 1? First u wanna figure out that acceleration of the cars, in m/s/s. Then use one of the distance formulas... with Vi and Vf in it to calculate.... But yea, auto sucks, u wanna get a manual, esp for this smaller engine. The auto sucks a lot of what little power this engine has.... Er s***, u wanted quater mile times.... well damn i already wrote soo much tho.... welll, it's easier to figure out the 0-60 times... quater mile will be a b****... I heard the auto's run high 18's... But then again i live in Calgary where the air pressure is not quite soo high, proally affects performance.... Came ded even with a 2001 Nissan Pathfider - 200hp, in RWD mode. The car was being manually shifted even tho it's an auto. I let my auto do the work. Gl finding out bud.

autos run low 18's manuals with a good driver will see a low 17/high 16 i believe, so about 1 second difference in the 1/4 mile...

damn so my 16.9 stock isnt that bad then with a manual? thought i screwed up!!

ok i thought i was really slow so i didnt post times..... (turbo is here and going to be installed in 2 weeks and then i will post new times) :)

0-60 :

Consumer Reports has 10.4sec for the auto

Motor Trend has 8.8sec for the manual

Car and Driver has 9.2sec for the manual

Uuhm... So my 8.5 is pretty good, then, eh? =) Granted, my clutch is getting pretty close to needing replacement... That could be why.
