well i just got back from the dealer. damn, i couldnt wait, so i just picked up a 6 (v6) with the sport and luxury package. it was 22,103, but after taxes it was at 24150. is this an ok price? or should i of waited?


forgot, i also got 1500 rebate, so it would be 22 something

I just took my 2003 Mazda 6S in for service and asked them about a rotten egg (sulfur) smell and they told me that it's caused by high amounts of sulfur in the gas. Supposedly we have high sulfur content in the fuel here in WA (state). They said there is nothing Mazda can do about it and I need to change fuels. I told them none of my friends have this problem with their fuel but that didn't matter to them. Has anyone received a better response from Mazda on this?

Symptoms and Conditions:
On some vehicles, a sulfur smell or 'rotten egg' odor may be noticed coming from the exhaust system. The odor is usually noticed after a cold start, fast idle, extended periods of idling and full throttle acceleration and deceleration. Sulfur smell is not an indication of an engine concern and will not cause reduced drivability or durability of the engine or any of its emission components. In most cases, the level of odor will become lower when the vehicle accumulates more mileage.

The amount of sulfur in gasoline significantly contributes to generating sulfur smell or 'rotten egg' odor. Sulfur levels in gasoline differs from brand-to-brand and also state-to-state. If a customer changes the fuel to one with lower sulfur content, the odor may disappear.

If you change gas, and the problem comes back, the fix is to replace all your cat's (4 of them) with revised versions.
