Did I F*k up my car?

Okay, so after getting a DashHawk, I decided on a few runs to see my 0-60. So I'm at a stop sign, ready to enter the freeway. I gas it a bit, pop the clutch, floor it through 1st, shift to 2nd, and at about 5k, the car jolts, the RPMs drop to 3k, the car lurches and I was thinking, WTF?

So I get off the freeway, drive it around for a bit and everything seems fine (not really gasing it hard), and then I decided to hit the freeway again. This time when I gas it to ~5PSI, I heard an extremely loud and excessiving amount of HISSSSSSSSSSSSSS (turbo spooling?) but the car goes nowhere and doesn't go above ~5PSI. The car doesnt move at all when I'm in boost and for the most part runs like sh*t.

Did I blow something?

My friend was thinking maybe a clamp off a hose/tube came loose.

I'll bet you blew a hose off. Either the cold pipe or the hot pipe rubber elbow (both connect to the intercooler, 1 on each end of the i/c).

It's happened to me before I got wise and replaced those sucky worm-gear clamps with t-bolt clamps.

Turns out the hot side clamp on the IC blew loose, thank god. Easy fix, and now I'm back on the road!

Best things out there, but they can be darn hard to find in certain sizes. I've always had to order mine online..........

Ya those worm clamps don't like to be tightened too much and you need a tight connection on those 2 elbows.

hmmm, Counting myself lucky, never had any issues with clamps so far. When I change plugs soon it will be the first time the intercooler has been off the engine ever.....

I'll betcha that the turbo inlet tube where it connects to the actual turbo will be loose. Check that one for sure ... kinda common.

My friend had this same thing happen on his sti a few days ago. Except we think his bov didn't open or something it surged and broke his turbine shaft ahahaha. He was just getting it all ready for the drags and the day of the race his turbo goes boom. Thats what he gets for pushing his baby so hard.

+1, when I installed my CP-e Turbo Inlet, the clamp connecting the stock inlet to the turbo was extremely loose, a baby could have twisted the screw off.
