Delsp5 Taxi Build Thread

After 2 days of non stop work (literally) which included 12 hours on Saturday because of stubborn end link nuts (grinded one off) and ridiculous wheel fitment, the coils are on and more or less adjusted.

Weird issue though: on the driver side rear, the wheel kicks out way more than the pass. Side. About 1-2inches. Its like it has a spacer... Anyone know what that is? Anyway its on stock wheels for now, pics in the morning.

Just got word that my wing will be shipping today. Super excited!! I got an SLS midpipe and racing mazda headers off of shootz and that will be going on this weekend. Hopefully I can get an alignment done and fix this stupid rear tire issue so i'll be rolling sexy.

Keep you all posted.

In the meantime, PICS:
The alignment issue:

The other side (good looking side, needs a roll and pull):

How she sits now on stock wheels:

Sheesh. Gonna need some crazy camber to sort that out. Good luck! You might need some adjustable lateral links in the back. Those tires won't last otherwise.

Yeah I was thinking that after seeing it in a thread somewhere.. Any suggestions as to what brand/where I can get them?

Gtspec and megan make lateral links for our car. Hope your coils came with f/r camber plates. Otherwise you need those too.
And I thought my +43 was aggressive fitment lol

lol i know. i got yellowspeeds so i'll need rear camber plates. thanks for the suggestions! the wheels are +22 or something lol. i might switch up my wheels but they look damn good.

How's the ride on yellow speed on bc roads? I want a set but kind of afraid...sportlines almost too low on 17s for victoria ha.

Tbh, they ride kinda harsh. Idk if its how I set it up but be prepared for a rougher ride.

To my knowledge GTspec never made lateral links. I think its just megan, AAC, and AWR. I dont know that you'd be able to find AWR's, AAC are $$$, but very nice none the less. And megans dont allow you to pull the wheels in. You might want to try King6Fab.com. He/they make some pretty cool stuff. Nothing exactly protege specific, but I think the adjustable 626 lateral Arms would work.

awesome. I'm gonna contact him tonight and see if these will work with our cars. thanks so much!

I'm pretty sure they will, because the 626, probe, mx6 guys have used our megan links on their cars. You might need custom short ones, because it looks like you need almost an inch of inward pull. When pulling in, camber will probably go a little bit positive, so you might not be able to achieve as much negative camber as whichever camber plates you decide to go with advertise.

Wait I may have overreacted with my saying an inch. That picture I was looking at was with your problematic rear drivers fitment. I thought that was just how they fit. Did you ever figure that out? And is it like that with the stock wheels on?

Haven't figured it out yet, alignment guy was out of town. And yeah it does do that with the stock wheels, just not as noticeable cause its not as wide.

Took a quick look the other day and it looked fine. I'll take a photo and you guys can judge lol. Cars going in for an alignment and some other junk tomorrow. I'll keep you all posted.
