Delsing Klunk Fix Brackets!

For all the people that didn't have any problems at all: did you get the endlinks with your brackets?

Peepsalot-I bought Dave's adjustable endlinks (for stock height-he had another one for lowered) along with the bracket. I've also bought the shaft clamp from mcmasters.

I just looked at my endlinks and the ones from Dave are the same length as stock. So nevermind about all that.
What is mallard talking about when he says the swaybar should be horizontal?

The arm of the sway bar (where the end link connects) should be parallel to the ground.

Ok, I just got home from school, and I don't have the time to read through everything in this thread. But, I'm tired of taking my car back to the dealer to get the clunk fixed, and I figure it can't hurt to try this since my dealer is cool with this and the cost isn't too high. Now, what I'm gonna ask is someone who's been reading through this give me the pos/neg to doing this mod...any problems you had with it, anything else I should get with it(aside from the bushings and grease and s***)..yadda yadda. Also, how do you like what it's done to your car. I don't care what it looks like(like if it rusts or is ugly or anything)...because, really...I'm no show car owner, and I don't plan to be. If it fixes the clunking..then I'm good and happy.

I haven't noticed any signs of rust on mine, I think they ironed out that problem with a different painting process or something. I've had a horrible time with this mod, but it was pretty much all due to the endlinks. I'd recommend sticking with the stock endlinks if you do this. The stock endlinks are not restricted in their rotation like the delsing ones are, which I believe led to the breaking of my strut. Just get the brackets alone, and I think it will work out well for you.

The bracket itself is great, no one has reported any problem other than some rust (I sprayed mine with rust paint b4). The endlinks are causing some problems to some people. I think I've fixed mine though but it makes me a bit paranoid cuz I don't want one of my shocks ending up like peepsalot's :(

my AWR endlinks (Front and Rear) klunk like hell and are coming off ASAP. (Too bad since I like the rear bar on there).

SO the endlinks are whats causing everyones problem and will the brackets still work correctly with the stock endlinks, Is this right ?

As far as I know, that is right. I do not have the bracket so I can't say for sure.

Yes, the brackets alone solve the clunk problem when used with the factory endlinks.

I just swapped back to the stock endlinks and my car no longer sounds like a 50 year old rattly hay cart. HOWEVER, I did notice something. One of the bolts on one endlink looks like it had a LOT of abnormal wear, along with the bushing that was on it, against the ball joint. I also noticed that these bolts seem a little smaller in diameter than the ones on the oem endlinks. If I had to guess (and this is completely a guess), I'd say that the smaller diameter allows a little vertical movement, which could be backing the nut back off of the bolt -- hence loosening things up where they shouldn't be. This doesn't really explain why Peepsalot's strut broke, but it might explain the things loosening up over time.

Also, as a side note, I will say that my plan is to eventually find a way to get the Delsing endlinks worked out and put back on. I realized when I took them off that I'd had to adjust one to be longer than the other so that the bar would be neutral. Since the OEM ones are exactly the same, it's loading the bar to work better turning one direction than the other, which is something I'd rather not have going on. Also, I've noticed that the handling seemed notably tighter with the Delsing endlinks.

Anyway, I guess all this rambling is essentially saying that while the Delsing endlinks are definitely a good thing, they'll take significant effort to really get "right."

That's right. The bracket is 100% great. The endlinks, well, we don't know for sure yet but there are some problems. I'll take mine off ASAP although they don't make noise really but I'm worried after what happened to Peepsalot
