Delsing Klunk Fix Brackets!

Just a little side note. I noticed today on my balcony were my sway bar rests now, the grease zerk fitting on one of the bushings broke off. I guess it banged against whatever the other bar is near it or something. Not too big of a deal, I'll just have to remove the bushing to grease it now, or fork over the cash for another bushing. I didn't notice if it was the same side with the broken strut, but I believe so.

Newb Question

Just wondering if it's drivable without the sway bar for a couple of days...I'm getting the brackets powdercoated.

LOL, i hope so dude, considering that's exactly what I've been doing for the ast few days. I just try not to take turns very fast and go ridiculously slowly over speed bumps.

Peepslot-Did you fix your problem. I just developed the similar problem after installing my GTSPEC setup. Everytime I accerlate from a stop, I would hear a pop or a thud sound. I don't think it's the ladder bar because I had it installed a day before the others and had no problems.

Maybe the sway bar is hitting the v brace or it could be the same problem you're having.

Which problem? The problem that my strut is broken and I have no way of attaching my endlinks or swaybar? I haven't fixed that yet because I'm waiting on illuminas to be shipped to me, then I'm going back to stock endlinks, and then I won't have any problems. Hopefully

Well, yeah the popping is fixed because my swaybar and endlinks are not attached anymore. Therefore no crappy rattling endlinks. My suspension is the quietest its ever been. For me the cause of all my problems was the aftermarket endlinks. I don't know if you have them or not so that may or may not be your problem.

I think Dave's too busy to check on the forums...I had Dave's endlinks installed since the beginning and never had a problem until now. I'll get my mechanic to check it out tomorrow. Maybe it's hitting the rear v brace bars?

Well, if it's the same problem as mine, it is the endlink bolts coming loose or possibly strecthing, go back and retighten all of them and put some thread lock on if you can. My theory is that the endlinks are not capable of rotating enough and this causes extra stress on the bolt. That's why I'm going back to stock endlinks, the amount they can rotate is much more.

That's what I'm thinking also. There is a big difference in the angle of rotation btw stock and Delsing endlinks. Tomorrow I'll revert to stock.

I also find the rear suspension too stiff. That's prolly very good for Autox but I spun out on the track last weekend (it's not just the links though, it's a bit of everything). Those links make the MSP tail happy...

Today I was going to remove the endlinks and put back the stock ones until I realized that the stock endlinks are MUCH longer than Delsing's....

Mine are exactly the same length.

I remember that in a email Dave said that the longer endlinks were for the lowered suspension. So could that be the origin of your problem? Anyways, I'm a bit confused about this. I did't have time to undo both endlinks and see how the arm would position itself with the stock endlinks in place, but I would guess that it would be almost perpendicular (pointing straight down) when the car is jacked...

Edit: With stock links the arm is no longer parallel to the ground as the pics here demonstrate:

Here's the thing (and someone tell me if I'm an idiot). I don't think the angle to the ground matters for anything. What's really meant by "neutral position" is that the endlinks are adjusted so that you have enough ground clearance and the bar isn't spring loaded due to a defect in the bar (and they ALL have defects). When the bar is loaded, it will actually INCREASE sway in one direction, based on how it's loaded. So, when I put my endlinks on, I first adjusted them both to the length of the stock endlinks. Then I had to lengthen one so that the bar wouldn't be loaded.
