Delsing Klunk Fix Brackets!

Any news? I really want the klunk fix kit. Have money in Paypal ready to go.

Ok,

I should know by the end of next week about doing another run of brackets depending on how much time my real job allows me to spend on it. TurfBurn and I have been communicating also about his involvement. Sooooo, stay tuned. Probably will do as advised and start another thread along with updating the web site to provide more information on the brackets which should help interest. Thanks

Godspeed!

The clunk is driving me f'ing nuts. When the dealerships replaces the bushings they last exactly two weeks and then it sounds like there's a dead body in my trunk every time I go over a bump or take a turn (I'm sure the cold weather has something to do with it). Please bring your brackets back to market, I'm willing to pay.

You can move the clamp bushing stoppers, but it's not essential. The lube-able urethane bushings do end up squeaking after a while, that's why one lubes them. 2 pumps from a grease gun and they're silent - do at every oil change. Wish I had zerks on those d@mn front bar bushings...

Updates

Hey!

Have been overworked with the "real" job. Awaiting pricing and such from my faithful vendors. All th eshops seem real busy and it would be a couple of weeks before they even get to it. Also Steve/Turfburn and I have been talking about him buying the rights to manufacture, so we are working on it, should have something by the end of this week.

Godspeed!

Hay Dave! Miss ya man - hope all continues well. I got my new job too, moved to The Burgh (Pgh PA), still rocking the prototype and the rear suspension is great. Dealer saw it and were distracted enough by the REAR kit that they forgot to lube the FRONT swaybar bushings, wanted to know where I got such a good quality kit, thought it was overbuilt (OK with me!). Family's good, all the best, peace,

What about Tri-Point's set up? Is that an upgrade for the regular Protege or will that be an upgrage for the MSP as well?

I can't get my clunk fix brackets to work and it's driving me crazy. I installed them a couple weeks ago, and find that the old clunk is gone, but replaced with a different sounding (and more frequent) clunk. My friend was riding in my car and he said it sounded like it was falling apart. I recently got under the car again thinking maybe something was loose, but I tested every nut and bolt, and they were all tight on there.

This sucks cause I don't know what to do. I doubt the mazda dealer will be able to do much, and I don't know anywhere else I would take it. Apparently I'm the only one with this problem.

Not sure what you could have done wrong. Make sure you have the right size bushings and they're tight on the bar, make sure they're greased well, check your endlinks...

Not sure what else could be wrong. I've never had a problem since I installed them.

How do I know how long my endlinks should be? What do you mean when you say "check your endlinks?"

if you're not lowered and still have your stock endlinks around, i would guess you could measure the stock ones and set the new ones at the same length. might help.

I meant make sure the bots are tight on your endlinks and that they're on properly. Basically I'd re-check everything that you took off to install the brackets along with the bushings to make sure they're the right ones.

When I put springs on, my car sounded like absolute s***. It turned out that the allen-dual-bolt thing was loose on one side on the endlink... Tightened to spec and it was fine.

OK everybody, I figured out my problem. You have no idea how much this was driving me crazy. I'm so relieved to have the clunk#2 gone. It was happening 100 times as often as clunk#1, yeah basically constant loud popping like my wheel is going to fall off while driving.

Here was my problem if anyone cares. One of the delsing endlinks I installed had it's ball joints twisted in opposite directions, and they were held tight in place by the nuts on the endlink. So basically, there was no free movement available for these joints. This was causing a bolt that held one of the sides of this endlink to constanly pop against the ball joint housing. The black area that filled in the ball joint was visibly worn by this stupid bolt.

My solution: With the endlink still in place, I loosened one nut that secures the ball joints. Twist both ball joints as far as they will go in one direction, then retighten the nut. Voila!

Thanks for posting this ... my set's been doing something similar but I just wrote it off as stiffer parts = noisier in a different way. I'll have to get under there and check on that this weekend.

Dave: If I've completely screwed up the ball joints on my endlinks (I haven't looked yet, but I've put a LOT of miles on these), what would it take to get replacements?
