Electronic Boost Controller
Manual Boost Controller
Blow Off Valve

Hmmmmm opinons ? Comments ? Reasons for answers please.

have no ideas about msp...
however, Electronic Boost Controller sounds good to me :)

well if you get ebc or mbc you should probably get a bov also. once you up the boost our stocker is pretty much crap.....oh wait it is crap to begin with.

Hmm, according to Joe the stock BPV was holding fine all the way up to 18PSI. I haven't had any issues with my BPV for the 30k miles at 12PSI it has been great. True it doesn't have that same "cool" factor a BOV does but hey it works. Also Joe's MBC is very small and very easy to remove just hope you did not get the bad, dry, brittle, easily cracked/split stock wastegate/bpv hoses I had. The dealer had to replace them all with bulk hose because mine were falling apart.

MBC...easier to go back to stock

True - But harder to adjust....but I guess it depends what kind you get.

There are just so many advantages/disadvantages. This is why I started this thread. Say if I can't get 94 octain for a week or so I just turn down the boost, easy from cockpit. Maybe I should look at an easy to adjust MBC....like a Hallman. (uhm)

actually if you search back to some older threads..it was shown that the stock bypass valve works fine...

1.greddy profec b (not the spec II)
2.turbo xs rfl bov

Dis - yea I remember someone saying the Prof b is nice, spec 1....but is that the one with the huge display? If so that puppy is $$ (thought)

About the BOV - I called forge today and had a good conversation with Tom, nice guy, Who also BTW does NOT think the turkey is compressure surge, has the BOV and BPV that pretty much just swap out the stock unit bing, bang boom. Simple as pie....and with the BPV Mazda can't really b****, it's basically the same unit in Billet.

JoeP stated his EBC spiked almost as much as his MBC w/ the MSP. I think he explained the spiking was more due to the turbo design, piping, etc..., not a boost controller

yea I have seen that video before. I'm impressed how the car stock holds so good. Is this the one with a 16bit processor in it that sends a signal every 2.5 nano seconds ...bla bla..?

Edit : No thats the HKS....

When I eventually decide to up my boost, I'll either go for the turbosmart e-boost (very cool piece of electronics) or a wastegate spacer that will leave me at 9 psi all the time. The dealer will never notice the spacer during regular service, and the e-boost solenoid can be taken out quickly and the e-boost controller looks just like a 2-5/8" boost guage to the uninformed. Absolutely no question I'll be electronic though - mostly for the safety factor. If the weather changes 10 degrees you're running different boost pressure with a MBC. Notice most of the engines blew when it got cold out? I don't know for sure but I don't remember reading a single one who was using an EBC...

ebc.
btw...why is everyone so worried about whether the dealer knows you have a boost controller?? are other kinds of car dealers as concerned about mods or is it just mazda/mazdaspeed?
