first... condolences. yeah its just a car but its something you put part of yourself into, so... condolences.

second - you may have considered it, but what about those investigative TV news shows? local news would prolly eat it up because they could run "Is your car safe? Find out how Action 5 News is helping protect your hard earned money..." kind of a thing and with 7 people having this issue it should carry some weight.

third - def. try and get into touch with the other people that got robbed. make a list of all of the places your cars were 2-3 months prior and compare notes. most likely they will be in a particular area or have gone to a particular shop/store. most auto theft is not random nor is it generally done by people just driving around and following you back to your home.

fourth - know that if you want me to run anything legal or just to run anything by me, let me know.

p.s. the Private Investigator idea is decent if you want to get into it but I would do some self-help checking first because you will end up saving money and it will be first on your priority list vs. 2/3/... on a PI's... and the first few weeks are a precious window to get info and such

Actually there are many metals that weight more the CF. Lithium for one weighs less, Aluminium is lighter. But you do not measure by weight because you can make anything light. Its all about density. And Lithium is the densest per gram. Meaning it is stronger per gram then CF. And takes up less physical matter.
