Is your dealer on Crack?
Did you give your dealer sh*t?:
Seriously, I haven't heard of a dealerships applying advertisment stickers to new cars since the early 90's or late 80's. What's up with that? Even more amazing, it sounds like it's common State-side. You see, up here in Canada, the dealer advertises by putting a lame license plate cover with the dealer name around the rear plate.
I would "kindly" inform your dealer that what they did was wrong. I mean, what gives them the right to put anything on your new property? Did they ask you if it was OK? You should approach them and say, "if you want me to advertise your company, pay me, or cut me a SERIOUS break on an accessory." It's that simple.
Now, here is my advice to get the decal off your paint. I'm sure all the other members' suggestions are great, but why should you go through the trouble and spend any money on chemicals? Take your car to the dealer, tell them that you did not give them permission to apply the sticker, and request that the dealer remove it. As an added bonus, if anything goes wrong while they remove their property from yours, the dealer is on the hook for the repairs to your paint. This worked for me. Before switching to Mazda, I owned a Honda Civic -- back in the mid 90's. The dealer applied one of those lame-ass stickers and I insisted that they remove it. The dealer did and ruined took the clear coat with it. In turn, they had to send my car to the shop to have the clear coat reapplied.
Think about. You paid for the car, not the car with the dealer's name on it.
